This is huge: "Healthcare scarcity is not just a problem to be solved; it’s also a lens through which broader societal priorities must be evaluated. Policy makers should recognize that healthcare intersects with almost every other policy domain, from housing (aging in place) to immigration (addressing workforce shortages). The solutions will require cross-sector collaboration, long-term planning, and—most critically—political courage." Healthcare scarcity exists across the continuum of care, and is being experienced by people living in Canada, of all ages. It impacts our experiences of care (as patients, and as healthcare providers), the outcomes of care, and the costs of care. Healthcare should be THE conversation we are having in 2025, in the context of the federal election, and beyond.
