The week before last, I began by giving four lectures to large classes at Temple University’s School of Pharmacy in Philadelphia, about the vital importance of medication safety in their future practice. The following day, I flew to San Diego, where I had the distinct privilege of delivering the keynote address at the Compounding Expert Committee (CEC) Summit that was hosted by BD. I’ve been so appreciative of the strong partnership between the Emily Jerry Foundation and Becton Dickinson over the years. Their amazing team has always seemed to understand and have been very supportive & aligned with our mission of preventing tragedies BEFORE they happen, with the core objective of ultimately saving countless lives from medication errors. While I was in San Diego, I was grateful for having been included in all the meetings and activities that followed the keynote presentation. Having the ability to participate, provided me the opportunity to learn so much from the ten leading compounding experts on the committee. It also gave me the ability to witness firsthand, the very productive collaboration that occurred all throughout the day. I’m so pleased to say that the focus of our time together truly revolved around advancing and improving medication safety all throughout the IV compounding process. It was such an awesome experience to be able to play a small part in this very well organized and successful meeting! #EmilyJerryFoundation #BD #patientsafety #medicationsafety #sterileprocessing #hospital #clinicalpharmacy #pharmacy #pharmacists #pharmacist #compounding #ivtherapy #pharmacies #healthcaretechnology #healthcareleadership #healthsystems #healthcareprofessionals #healthcareadministration #pharmacystudents #pharmacystrong #qualityhealthcare #humanerror #humanfactors #patientsfirst #pharmacytechnician #pharmacytechnicians #ashp #pharmacystudent #pharmacylife #grateful
