Surveyed physicians indicate that ~30% of hospital-based care can be moved to other settings BUT clinicians lack the right economic incentives to do it. This is the sweet spot I've been focused on for years - designing and running micro-incentive programs for doctors proven to right-size this. Best of all, the system doesn't need to rely on clinician judgments to pinpoint which physicians, procedures, or settings have the most opportunity. We can ID real behavior change opportunity for every doctor using the country's largest claims dataset at Clarify... Amol S Navathe Zeke Emanuel https://lnkd.in/eeV6TSyv

A recent article in MedPage Today highlights the importance of PCPs managing the majority of patient conditions: https://lnkd.in/gW64bBM4 The article argues that over-referral to specialists can be detrimental to patient care. Here's why strong primary care is essential: - Continuity of Care: PCPs develop long-term relationships with patients, fostering trust and understanding their unique health needs. - Holistic Approach: PCPs consider a patient's overall health, addressing both physical and mental well-being. - Cost-Effectiveness: Primary care is often a more cost-efficient way to manage chronic conditions. Ursamin supports PCPs by: 1. Helping to reduce administrative burden and free up time for patient interaction by improving and streamlining workflows. 2. Providing tools and the means to improve communication and collaboration with specialists when necessary. 3. Empowering informed decision-making with data-driven insights that optimize patient care plans. Let's work together to strengthen primary care and deliver exceptional patient experiences. #PrimaryCare #HealthcareInnovation #PatientCenteredCare

Dr. Maria Ansari makes an incredible point as to why our current healthcare system is ineffective and doesn't benefit the patient population as well as it could: "We've been living in a system that rewards disease instead of rewards prevention... Part of the future is trying to shift that mindset into doing the things that we set out to do as medical students, which is to help patients live a healthy life." We all have the intention of helping patients. Through VBC, we can. #VBC #ValueBasedCare #Healthcare

This article looked into primary care physicians' perspective on the time constraints of the high-demand practice. I found it unsurprising that many feel guilt and dissatisfaction, because they feel they are unable to find a way to deliver high quality care, while not allowing their work to overflow into their personal life. A very important topic, especially with increasing rates of healthcare worker burnout. https://lnkd.in/gNPww9MK

🩺 Patients often feel stressed, unheard and unsupported in healthcare. From long waits for diagnoses to interactions with lack of empathy, many express a desire for doctors who listen and care. The need for empathy in healthcare is more critical than ever. Clinical empathy allows patients to feel validated and secure, leading to better outcomes. Yet, many feel that in the rush of industrialized healthcare, this human element is missing. How can empathy become the norm and not an exception? Read more about it in our latest blogpost which was written by Clarinda Cerejo, a EUPATI-certified Patient Expert. https://lnkd.in/dy67fhKf #PatientPerspective #EmpathyInHealthcare #PatientCentricity
