I was adding to this post I’m sharing about the Westerville Area Chamber than realized it started sounding just like the review they shared (that I wrote) so I just stopped 🤣 I will say this tho… 1. Your company should join your local chamber. (Very low 💵 fees) 2. Your company should support the local chamber. (Sponsor events etc) 2. You should look to add value to your business community. (Not sell) 3) As you are adding that value, you might make some friends 🤝 along the way (scratch that, you WILL) 4. You might even just get some 💰business from it. (But only after you do what? Great local networking session at Plumpton Racecourse last night with the Haywards Heath Business Association, despite having to brave the storms to get there! 🌧️ After stepping back from networking last year due to life events, it feels amazing to reconnect with my local business community. It’s good to be back. 🙂 Working from home can be pretty isolated - full of video calls and emails. These events remind you of the value of face-to-face interactions, and you also get to explore some fantastic local venues! While I’m not there to sell my services (though that can be a nice side-effect), it’s really about meeting new people and feeling part of the community. 🥰 Plus there is a lot of support out there for local businesses which you might not find out about without your local business association. We had a great introduction to the West Sussex Growth Hub last night so I’m excited to dive into the resources they have on offer! Why should you come to Canary Connections? 🤔 Well, when I first started going to property networking events I couldn't find what I wanted. Most of the events were centred around education (and therefore they attracted lots of newbies) and pitching (disguised as presentations). There was very little opportunity for networking. Maybe a 15 minute interval if you were lucky. Not everyone would hang around after the formalities were over. You had no clue who else was in the room that you should even connect with. So I built my own event. Pure networking. No presentations to sit through. No speaker slots / pitches. No complete newbies. Curated attendee list. Invite-only. You know in advance who is coming that you should speak to. It's a lot of work for me 😫 but people find real value in it. As it turned out, I've built a COMMUNITY of like-minded canaries, not simply an event. 📌 This is property networking, done differently 📌 📍Manchester 16th May 📍London 13th June 📍Birmingham 20th June All events start from 6pm.
