So EXCITED to share this paper - led by Dr Rebecca Shellock, this paper provides a comprehensive systematic map of published and grey literature on #oceanliteracy, identifies existing gaps in where/ what we are researching and provides recommendations for the future. #MarSocSci
📢 NEW PAPER 📢 🌊 Collaboration between Centre for Marine Socioecology, University of Tasmania, UNSW Centre for Sustainable Development Reform, Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, UNSW Canberra, Mosaic Insights. 🌊 The paper uses a Systematic Map method to explore the current evidence base on Ocean Literacy. 🌊 298 studies identified and analysed. 🌊 Most studies are undertaken in the Global Majority, use quantitative approaches and knowledge is the main focus. 🌊We also identified ten research-focused and operational priorities for the field. 🌊 The Map brings coherence to the existing evidence base, identifies gaps, and provides a way forward for research and practice and its implications for ocean and coastal management.
