Reflecting on a great week for #CCS and the energy transition in #Denmark.
Having returned from an important week in Esbjerg and Copenhagen, I am proud of the substantial progress made in advancing carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (#CCUS). A key highlight was DNV’s certification of the first CO2 storage site for Project Greensand - a significant milestone for Denmark’s leading carbon capture and storage initiative. This certification is a crucial step in enabling large-scale decarbonisation of the North Sea, and the broader deployment of CCS technology. More details on this critical milestone can be found here > https://lnkd.in/ey6Mmja3
I also had the opportunity to attend DNV’s “Financing the energy transition” hybrid event series, which took place in Copenhagen on Thursday. The event focused on how Danish pioneers have put CCUS into practice, and it was great to see key players from the finance community and the energy sector to discuss the critical intersection of financing and scalable CCUS implementation. The discussions reinforced the urgent need for both technological and financial commitments to drive these solutions forward at the pace required to meet climate goals.
It was a week of concrete actions and valuable insights, reaffirming the essential role of #collaboration in the journey toward a sustainable energy future. I look forward to continuing our work, confident that the foundation laid in Denmark will accelerate progress on a global scale.
