This is the EU’s first-ever legislation to curb methane emissions in the energy sector. The legislative proposal followed the EU Methane Strategy adopted in 2020 and is now in the process of being implemented at the EU Member States level.   🌍360° approach Together with international experts from the European Commission, regulators, the industry and service providers, the webinar series will dive into the details of solutions to ensure an efficient implementation of the EU Methane Regulation by the operators and stakeholders along the value chain.

🐊 #NTGovernment Approves Environmental Plans for Empire Energy Group’s Beetaloo Gas Project 🐊 The Northern Territory Government has approved #EmpireEnergy's Environment Management Plan for its #Carpentaria #gas pilot project in the #Beetaloo Sub-basin. 👉 https://lnkd.in/ggGJkTZk This milestone enables Empire Energy to proceed with drilling up to nine wells, constructing the Carpentaria Gas Plant, and establishing a connection to the McArthur River Pipeline for gas export. The approval marks a significant step in the development of the Beetaloo Sub-basin as a potential contributor to Australia’s energy supply. 

My successor as Minister for the Environment in Jersey has said he is "ambivalent" about an offshore wind farm in Jersey. I find the ambivalence (and sometimes hostility) to a wind farm interesting, and in this video I play with a little thought experiment: what would have happened if Jersey had discovered oil off the coast of Corbiere back in the 1970's, just as oil was discovered and being developed in the North Sea? Would we have exploited that resource? I suspect we would, and to me the wind farm is very similar. Oil and wind are both energy resources that are potentially open to commercial exploitation. Today, renewable energy is the resource that everyone is after, so surely we should at the very least explore whether it is economically viable?
