At FYG Advisory, we believe that "What gets measured, gets done." That's why every new team member receives a six-month plan with clear, monthly milestones. This structured approach ensures everyone knows what’s expected and feels supported through dedicated training. We don’t rely on vague terms like "based on your performance." Instead, we set tangible goals so everyone can track their progress and know exactly what success looks like. This method isn’t just for our team members—it's how we operate too. It’s a practice rooted in our Chartered Accountancy days, where planning and execution were key to our confidence and success. #GoalSetting #FYGAdvisory #MeasurableGoals

At RR Accountants, we believe that business, like stories, thrives when it's built on strong values. On this special day, we celebrate the creativity and life lessons from Roald Dahl, which are just as relevant in the world of business. 💡 Business takeaway from the lesson we embraced: Passion drives success. At RR Accountants, we approach every task with enthusiasm, dedication, and precision. Whether it's solving complex financial puzzles or delivering insightful advice, our passion is reflected in everything we do for our clients. Remember: 🌱 Stay Curious: Like the young Matilda, never stop learning. Knowledge is the key to growth in business. 🏆 Be Bold: Inspired by characters like Charlie, take calculated risks and believe in the magic of your vision. 🤝 Practice Kindness: As Roald Dahl showed us in so many stories, empathy and kindness foster trust and build lasting relationships — a core part of our client philosophy. Here’s to applying these timeless lessons in business every day! #roalddahlday #businesslessons #accountancywithheart #rraccountants #staycurious #bebold #practicekindness

Time Value of Money Whether you are working in a job or a business, you are paid (call it valued) for something and that translates into your payment (income). You may be valued for your skills but you are being paid for your time. In other words, your time has a value attached to it. Some people are paid 1x while others are paid 1000x for the same time, the difference is in the value. Ever wondered why board of directors are paid so much just to attend a meeting? It's because their time is of much higher value than most other employees of the same company. Quick note on Value: Value is a perceived societal notion for what somebody is willing to pay for it. As long as there is desire (demand), there is value. It may or may not be real.

Another governance aspect for a board director to consider, thanks to Mark Rogers and BoardProspects.com “Board decisions regarding directors’ own compensation inherently involve self-dealing because a director who receives a financial benefit from the transaction stands on both sides of the transaction (i.e., setting and receiving the compensation).” #goodgovernance #boarddirectors

Once a quarter, Sarah and I visit our clients in the beautiful Port Lincoln, South Australia. I get to present finance education training to the board, and honestly, it's my favourite part of the experience. Who would have thought finance could be so interesting? But it really is when you have an engaged audience. The board members are always ready to dive into discussions, making the whole experience so rewarding. Do you have a place that makes work feel like a joy? For me, that's Port Lincoln. 💖 If you haven’t been there, I’d say you're truly missing out on seeing a breathtaking surrounding! ✨ #visionbeyondadvisory #financeplanning #strategicfinance #businesssuccess #financialvisibility #cashflowmanagement #riskmanagement #taxefficiency #scalingstrategy
