Growing your passion is definitely not for the faint of hearth. 🫠 The entire process of creating a business, the continuous learning - all the professions and abilities you have to develop to make it work. And then - the COMMUNITY! Everywhere I look, on social media an around me, everyone has a supportive community to help and support them on their journey. And here I am, struggling to even start building it. I asked google and ChatGPT and they gave valuable answers - join groups, go to events, connect with people. And yet, it is still so hard to actualy achieve any results. Don't get me wrong, I'm actively doing my part. I have signed up for a few events this month, joined a lot of groups on LinkedIn and Facebook, and I am even exploring the community app Skool now. How do you know if your village people are after your life? Well, when LinkedIn bans you three times in three months, you might start wondering. After my last post, a few people reached out, asking why I was banned that often in such a short period. I wish I could tell them it was something wild like my village people.😂 However, LinkedIn hit me with a list of community principles I "allegedly" violated. Some of these rules were: ❌Autogenerating likes using bots (Something I never knew existed until the day I got banned. I was innocent, and it didn't matter.) ❌Using a fake profile picture ( I'm still using it now, and we could all agree that's me. LinkedIn thought differently, but it's fine now) ❌Accepting too many connection requests( I made a post and got over 100 connection requests. The amateur in me said I should accept all of it. That decision landed me in LinkedIn's bad book, and I went to jail.😂 After these terrible experiences, I decided to stay updated on the platform’s policies. You should too. The day I hit 10k followers, I sat on my bed in tears. I kept refreshing my app and when I saw 10k, I burst into tears. I kept wondering, “how?” It just felt so surreal. I joined LinkedIn because it was just the perfect place for me to hide and I’ve never dreamt of this in my whole life. Well, months later - I’m celebrating 30k followers soon. One thing that keeps making me emotional is YOU- how I found a community of people that love me. LinkedIn is not that hard, I promise. Take a chill pill. I did it and you can too. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬! I am talking about 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸! Let’s say I didn’t enter this week from the right door cause since Monday I have been struggling with recovering from the weekend… 𝑁𝑜 𝑖𝑡’𝑠 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 😂 I had a soft weekend, Monday was extra soft cause the work I wanted to start that day was delayed due to circumstances beyond my control. Tuesday was just another busy day, but it was obvious I didn’t want to do anything. Still had to force myself through it cause no way I’d tolerate another unproductive day. Oya oya, let’s make a post, maybe it will help me get back active. Nothing was flowing. Scrolled through my content bank.. everything was annoying😂, tried using Gemini to create a post, that one was worse. It wasn’t driving the point like I wanted even after all my explanation and prompts, I mean I can’t blame it, AI is not human. I said.. okay! Let me come and report myself, afterall it’s not everytime we will have “motivational” or “how-to” content to serve na, sometimes my community should know that I am lost at the moment😄. Then I got a second thought that made me clear the post, like… why should I disturb them with this, it’s not even their problem. Okay! Since I can’t create a post, let me engage on other people post. That one was war, and the last thing I wanted was to drop generic comments. That was when I realized that I probably just need a break. Lately, I open the app, scroll, consume all sorts of content, sometimes take the effort to comment something meaningful and close the app. On rare occasions like today, instead of doom scrolling through this bout of productivity inducing app, I choose to write. But now, I'm clueless. What exactly do I want to talk about? Do I want to talk about the trip I went to last week and how utterly unrelaxing it was? Or do I want to talk about my therapy session I had couple of days ago and what a major breakthrough it was? Do I want to be honest? Or do I want to fake it till I make it? What do I want to talk about? Truth be told, I don't know. But if there's one thing that I'm sure of, it is to put myself out there. In words, In poems, In music, In fantasies. Sometimes concealed, sometimes raw. I don't hope for the world to know me, I certainly don't want to make every content I put out go viral (isn't one of my goals, yet) But I do hope to be heard, and read. Today, I’d like for us to spread a bit of kindness to beginners. Here’s how. There are new creators on LinkedIn every now and then, and you know how it goes. A creator’s journey is always met with back and forth or cluelessness. Today, I need you to advise a creator. What’s something you have learned that has kept you going on LinkedIn? What are ways they can do better on the app? Advise them today. I’ll start. My advice: The best hack to growing on LinkedIn is consistency. Consistently market your skills. Don’t stop because you don’t think you are doing enough or because you are not seeing the numbers grow. You don’t need that kind of pressure. Go slow, go steady. Bonus Advice Connect with only people in niches you have interest in or a niche related to yours. Don’t go about connecting with anyone and everyone because it is the fastest way to stack followers.
