Our mission is to develop new drugs to control immunity, treat diseases, and enhance human health and wellbeing. Have you ever wondered why?💡💡 📌 It is increasingly evident that a significant proportion of diseases is either directly caused or exacerbated by imbalances in the immune system. 📌 Specific diseases are linked to an overactivity or an insufficiency in a specific immune mechanism, leading to characteristic connections of a type of disease with a type of immune response. 📌 A highly reactive immune system efficiently protects from infection and cancer, yet at an increased risk of developing an autoimmune or autoinflammatory disease. 📌 Human health and wellbeing are therefore connected to a finely tuned immune response that finds the middle ground. Hello connections... Here is an article about lung day !!! World Lung Day (WLD) is celebrated annually on September 25th to raise awareness about lung health and diseases that affect the respiratory system. Organized by the Forum of International Respiratory Societies (FIRS), the day serves as an opportunity to unite individuals, organizations, and governments in promoting the importance of healthy lungs and preventing lung diseases. The lungs play a vital role in maintaining life by supplying oxygen to the bloodstream and removing carbon dioxide from the body. Unfortunately, respiratory diseases affect millions of people worldwide, contributing significantly to global morbidity and mortality rates. Conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, lung cancer, and tuberculosis are among the most common lung diseases, leading to an immense burden on public health systems. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinking #designthinkers #article

Sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) contributed to 2.2 million new cases of type 2 diabetes (T2D) and 1.2 million cardiovascular disease (CVD) cases globally in 2020. The impact is highest in Latin America, the Caribbean, and sub-Saharan Africa, especially among men, younger adults, and urban populations. This study underscores the need for policies to reduce SSB consumption and tackle these growing health burdens.

It is the objective of the VHPB contribute to the control and prevention of all viral hepatitides. Part of our activities focus on increasing awareness, for example through encouraging actions to improve control and prevention. Today, we want to highlight the World Liver Day 2024 – 19 April. The liver is an unsung hero, silently performing over 500 crucial functions in the body, from filtering toxins to aiding in digestion and metabolism. Despite its significance, liver health often remains neglected, leading to staggering statistics: 1.5 billion people suffered from chronic liver disease globally in 2017, with 2 million lives lost each year.

Antimicrobial resistance poses a significant threat to patients with 𝗰𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀, such as COPD, as these individuals are particularly vulnerable to respiratory infections in general and frequently require antibiotic treatment. The Lancet just published 3 excellent papers concerned with how digital tools can help us win the fight against antimicrobial resistance. While physicians once fought infections in the dark, digital technologies now illuminate the battlefield, offering precision in place of presumption, removing the excuses. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲-𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀, 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀. Every patient's unique response can potentially become a datapoint in our collective defense, as we move from broad-spectrum guesswork… to targeted treatment, making each prescription saved count in our race against resistance.
