With World Menopause Month, we have the opportunity to begin important conversations around menopause. Many women remain silent about their menopause symptoms out of fear—fear of losing their jobs, facing rejection, ageism, or the stigma and shame that still surrounds this natural phase of life. But here’s the challenge: if we don’t talk about menopause, employers won’t know that support is needed. In fact, one of the main reasons employers don’t offer menopause-related benefits is simply because employees didn’t ask. It’s time to change that. Open dialogue is one of the most critical steps in creating menopause-friendly environments. When employees feel safe to speak up, organizations are more likely to offer the resources and support needed for their teams to thrive—both in and outside of the workplace.
