Wednesday (3.4.2024) was my 1-year anniversary at Adven – The leading partner in the energy transition. Let's sum up the past 12 months. When I started at Adven, I knew the learning curve would be steep. Little did I know how steep: 🧡 I have literally had to dig up my old university books to remind my self of some basic physics rules I had completely forgotten during my IT career. 💚 My colleagues have been endlessly patient in explaining me what certain terms mean, how our solutions work, what an MVR does, how lactose is retracted from waste water and so on. Special cudos to Pasi Kolehmainen and Antti Tuominen for always being there for my stupid questions. 🧡 I have had a crash course on how pricing of long term, asset heavy, solutions is done. The contracts in this business are 15+ years, which means that there are quite different risks than with IT's 3+ year software contracts. The basic elements of outsourcing are still there though. 💚 I now know how beer malt is produced, what is needed to make ready-made-foods, how frozen vegetables are done in a way that they don't loose their color and what is needed for milk to become lactose-free. All this I have had to learn quickly to talk with my customers how we can best help them on their sustainability journey. And my customers are always ready to teach me the specifics of their business, which I am so grateful for. What I want to become better at in the next 12 months: 🧡 Like in IT, also the energy solutions are ever evolving and becoming more complex. I want to know what are the next up and coming energy efficiency solutions that can make my customers production even more sustainable. 💚Articulating the benefits of our business model even better. I can still see that some of our customers do not see the benefits of EaaS. How we take full responsibility for the value chain from development through construction, and investment to operation and maintenance. How the tailor-made solutions help reach sustainability as well as financial and operational goals. What I hope I have been able to bring to the company so far: 🧡 New ways of utilizing tools and methods on sales and work in general. 💚 How social channels are used today to support the more traditional ways of selling. 🧡 Celebrating small wins, holidays, special occasions and even regular Fridays. 💚 Understanding customers business on even more strategic level. 🧡 Joy and laughter. So to sum it up: 🧡It has been fun. 💚Every now and then frustrating (because of the speed of the business compared to what I'm used to). 🧡Definitely challenging. 💚Meaningful. 🧡Hopefully in the long run impactful. 💚New. 🧡Different. 💚But above all it has been a pleasure to work with such an amazing people around me. Thank you advenians for making me feel as part of the team every day. And special thank you to Kristaps Greidāns for taking the chance on hiring me ❤ #workanniversary #1year #energyindustry

As we wrap up another busy week, it’s easy to get caught up with a load of tasks and deadlines to the extent that we forget to appreciate the progress we've made. Reflecting on my week, I thought to share a few key moments that made this week both memorable and productive. 𝑴𝒂𝒋𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌 ✨️I had the chance to present my ongoing research to government representatives from DAFM who visited our research organization. It was an exciting opportunity to showcase our work and its potential impact on the Irish agricultural sector. ✨️For the first time, I accompanied my colleagues to a slaughterhouse to collect fat samples. Witnessing the entire process from slaughter to the chilling room was surreal and quite intense. ✨️Our Youth in Sustainable Dairy Network is gradually thriving, with significant interest and engagement just one week after launching our LinkedIn page. ✨️I had an inspiring virtual meeting with mind-blowing professionals from Australia and China, who turned out to be alumni of FUNAAB. 𝑫𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝑰 𝒅𝒊𝒅𝒏’𝒕 𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌? Of course, not everything went smoothly. I encountered some unexpected issues that screwed up my plans. As usual I perceive issues like that as opportunities to learn and grow. 𝑫𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒅? Absolutely not. I've developed a thick skin and the determination to keep moving forward, no matter what happens. I have learned to handle setbacks with the right approach and resilience 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌? Enjoy the process, make time to connect with loved ones, and keep moving forward. 𝑵𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌 𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓, 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒃𝒊𝒈 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌𝒆𝒏𝒅? I'm looking forward to attending a typical Nigerian Owambe 🥳. It’s always a great way to relax and enjoy time with African community. 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒋𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒏𝒆𝒙𝒕 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌? Next week, we have the Teagasc Beef Open Day 2024. It's a significant event that happens once every two years, and I'm excited to present my ongoing research there. Reflecting on the week, it’s clear that every experience, whether a success or a setback, contributes to our growth. Embrace the journey, stay resilient, and always believe in your dreams. Cheers to a productive week and an exciting weekend ahead!🥂🥂 What are your major highlights for this week? Lesson learned? Have you thought of celebrating your small wins this week? What are your plans for the weekend? #WeeklyReflection #Progress #Resilience #Growth #Networking #FutureGoals #PersonalDevelopment

Celebrating National Milk Day with Dr. Kurien's Wisdom! On this auspicious occasion of National Milk Day, let's honor the legacy of Dr. Verghese Kurien, the visionary who revolutionized the dairy industry. His words resonate profoundly even today: "Once you identify the best person for a particular project and tell him or her exactly what you expect, you must put your complete trust in that person, allowing him or her to work independently without interference. If you do, the project is bound to succeed." These words aren't just a piece of advice; they're a guiding light for all present-day dairy enthusiasts and professionals. Dr. Kurien's belief in trust and empowerment speaks volumes about fostering an environment where expertise thrives. As we celebrate the nourishing goodness of milk, let's embrace this philosophy. To the dairy enthusiasts and professionals out there: take these words to heart. Believe in your capabilities, in your expertise. Trust is the cornerstone of success. Allow yourselves the freedom to innovate, to ideate, and to bring forth new waves of progress in the dairy industry. Dr. Kurien's legacy isn't just about milk; it's about empowerment, trust, and unwavering dedication. Let's carry this torch forward, nurturing the spirit of innovation and excellence in the dairy world. Happy National Milk Day to all those who believe in the power of trust, innovation, and the incredible potential of the dairy industry! 🥛

Reflecting on 2024 💭 I've more or less wrapped up my work here at DSM before the festive Christmas and New Year's Break. I want to take this moment to reflect on this passing year—in a nutshell, of course. From the professional aspect of my line, the biggest highlight of the year was starting my role at DSM. This journey meant I met this visionary and passionate CEO, Andrew C. Clossey. He wanted to achieve all the good things for DSM: for its people and its customers. He believed DSM could be better than what it was. His vision and energy initially drew me to DSM throughout the interviews. I'm still grateful for the chance he's given me. Then, I met the fantastic DSM team. All of them were helpful, emotionally invested in the brand and their work, and positively obsessed with the quality of the service. They created the environment for a new employee like me to nurture and develop, so I am grateful to them! I could have counted them one by one and noted how they continuously supported me. Learning a new industry, product, or service is always challenging at the beginning. Also, I have this mentality: "I don't know the answer/the best." DSM doesn't know the answer/the best, but our leads/prospects/clients know the answer/the best! They've built the service knowledge and what's actually required to solve the real problems, to solve their problems. It's been an exciting year full of opportunities and challenges. These have left me in a position where I'm looking forward to next year and the challenges and opportunities it will bring. We will keep building and expanding our service portfolio, improving our quality to the needs of the ever-changing landscape.

Wishing all (Canadian friends and colleagues) a very Happy Thanksgiving! This has been an amazing and challenging year at Blackthorn Farm. I am so grateful to our pilot year CSA subscribers for their encouragement and patience. There has been so much to learn, but a great satisfaction in getting the first season under our belts. Big lessons: veg growing competencies are cultural (i.e. I can easily grow what my father grew, root veg not so much); Almost everything needs to be under cover; Time to pack boxes is best gift - the most fun part of my week should not be rushed. Next year will be about: extending the season with a poly tunnel; taking time to pack and deliver at a consistent time each week; and adding more info on what's in the box and how to use it. Subscribers love diversity and a vegetable adventure, but appreciate preparation ideas. Better, not bigger.

Smokefree #Sweden followed by a soon smokefree New Zealand! Liberty and regulations that works! #NZ will accelerate the reduction further by very soon allowing #nicotinepouches and #snus. Cheers to public health. Great video clip by Somos Innovación headed by Federico Fernandez At the event in Warsaw, an Australian doctor (Carolyn Beaumont) asked the panel "when my patients try nicotine pouches the say it hurts and irritate their gums". Well, I told her, it doesn't have to if adapting the Sting Free Snus technology. She gladly accepted some samples of Stingfree Strong Blue Mint after testing it herself. This is true innovation focused on why many smokers don't readily switch to #nicotinepouches and #snus. A patented barrier to protect the gum is the solution. On top of that, #Stingfree pouches is now the only brand in the world recommended by Swedish #dentists. Could a safer alternative to dangerous smoking be more "harm reduced" than that? #harmreduction #smokefree #Weareinnovation #innovation https://lnkd.in/dwt7xEJT
