Today marks the kick-start of my round of lectures on #cybersecurity related laws at the Cyber Risk and Data Protection Law course at #Bocconi university. I am taking the baton from Francesco Paolo Patti who lectured on data protection law during the initial part of the course. Coming from a background shaped around the need to systematise law, I have to say it is quite a challenge to filter the main tenets of a magamatic area of regulation, such as cybersecurity, which is in a constant state of flux and change. The most recent #cyberresilienceact proposal which is being discussed at EU level is just the latest example of a moving target. Appreciating the dynamic landscape of tech regulation and data being at the heart of it, I've recently completed an insighful course on data protection offered by CIPIT. We went deep into legal foundations and frameworks, compliance essentials, and global perspectives into privacy and the future of data protection regulation. I gained insights into safeguarding data under the current framework and navigating the compliance gaps that exist therein.
