#122MWp Solar Project Goes Live in Brandenburg The 122 MWp #SolarPhotovoltaicProject in Schiebsdorf, owned by Octopus Energy Generation, has officially been energized, marking a significant achievement in the German solar market. This project is poised to be one of the largest solar parks in the country as it moves closer to its commercial operations date. The solar park spans an impressive 83.8 hectares of low-agricultural-value land near #Schiebsdorf. Notably, it employs advanced #BifacialSolarPanels designed to enhance energy output by capturing sunlight from both sides. Once operational, the Schiebsdorf solar project is expected to power over 36,000 households and significantly reduce carbon emissions, saving approximately 48,000 tonnes of CO2 annually. #solar #solarpanel #solarPV #solarproject #BifacialSolarPanels #Brandenburg #Germany https://lnkd.in/gbv_Gx57

EU strategy Day for #solar Buildings On February 21st, SolarPower Europe's members from the BuildingsProsumers Workstream, including manufacturers, research institutes, associations, and representatives from the European Commission, gathered in Brussels for the EU Building Strategy Day project, co-organized with the SEAMLESS-PV Project. Together, we delved into the latest developments in Building Integrated Photovoltaics (#bipv ) and formulated a strategic outlook for the #bipv market. Despite the start of the implementation of the new EU Solar Standard in 9 EU member states and the remarkable growth of rooftop solar with over 60% market share in 2023, #bipv deployment remains extremely limited, constituting only around 1% market share. https://lnkd.in/gfAamFta #eubuildingstrategyday #solarenergy

German Solar Expansion at Risk from Proposed Policy Changes, Warns BSW – Bundesverband Solarwirtschaft e.V. The German Solar Industry Association (#BSW-Solar) issued a warning on Friday, cautioning that proposed changes to Germany’s Energy Industry Act could slow photovoltaic (#PV) expansion, especially for smaller #commercialrooftop systems. The amendments aim to control #electricity peaks and prevent negative prices. A central point of concern for BSW-Solar is the proposed requirement for direct marketing of #solarpower starting from installations with a capacity of 25 kWp. According to BSW-Solar’s managing director, Carsten Körnig, “Direct marketing for small-scale solar is already challenging and hinders PV growth on medium-sized roofs.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/gk4227Gs #solar #PV #solarPV #commercialrooftop #electricity #power #renewableenergy #BSW #Germany
