Love this quote from the full article: "Previous energy transitions serve as a cautionary tale of divides between winners and losers. So, while the energy transition ahead is one of the greatest challenges facing the UK, it is also one of the greatest opportunities: a chance to learn the lessons from the past as the country builds a cleaner, greener, fairer, and more prosperous future based on renewable low carbon energy" Kim McCann and Karthik Ponniah discuss the challenges and opportunities to build a more equitable society through innovative energy solutions in this article from PA Consulting #TenShapesTen

What does it mean to have a sustainable energy transition? It was a pleasure to dig into this topic with Michele Harradence of Enbridge and Brent Jackson of Grant Thornton at the Electricity Distributors Association’s ENERCOM 2024 conference. We need a greener, smarter and bigger grid to support our climate goals, electrification and economic growth. At Fortis Inc. we believe innovation and collaboration are critical. Policy and regulation should support more integrated planning between energy systems, more regional interconnections and more demand side management programs. Let's be ambitious but pragmatic. A sustainable energy transition will be successful only if we can bring everyone along.

Congratulations to Remi Eriksen and DNV on the successful launch of their report; “Energy Transition Outlook 2024”. “If we want a faster transition, we must understand what is working and what is not. […] 2024 is the year that the global energy transition has begun; it is also the year that emissions are likely to peak” (From the foreword – Remi Eriksen, President and CEO, DNV). We are looking forward to contributing to accelerate the energy transition in line with the recommendations that this report outlines, when we meet in Oslo in February. As a trusted partner with DNV, we are proud to share the report here, the “Energy Transition Outlook 2024.” Download the report below. If Oceania were a meal plan, it might suggest "healthy salad tonight, but how about some cheesy fries too?" 🌱 Although all 14 nations target net zero emissions by 2050, they still depend on fossil fuels for more than half of their energy production. That's a confusing approach! It's high time to enhance renewable energy and move away from that fossil fuel dependency. Curious for more insights? Explore here: https://okt.to/rN8HE4
