🛣 We need your ideas to help solve some of the biggest challenges facing the energy industry on the road to #netzero! 💬 Experts from our #innovation team have been sharing their insights into some of these challenges at the latest #InnovationBasecamp hosted by Energy Networks Association (ENA). 💡 At the event, we presented 'problem statements' outlining some of the biggest hurdles we've identified in the delivery of the smart energy transition. 🔓 Collaboration will be key to unlocking a clean, fair and affordable smart energy future so conversations like this are crucial to explore and develop the industry-wide solutions needed to meet the UK's net zero targets. Our problem statements focused on the need for innovative projects to help: ✅ decarbonise network operations ✅ increase the flexibility and efficiency of the energy system to speed up the adoption of low carbon technologies ✅ make the most of existing network infrastructure to reduce the cost and environmental impact of new construction projects. To read the 'problem statements' in detail and submit your project ideas by 15 April, visit: https://lnkd.in/e_wjie9r

As energy communities grow, utilities need to reinvent business models to stay relevant and not just protect but grow revenue and profit pools. Read more below.
Is your company prepared for the rise of energy communities? 🏘️🏡 ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Our recent analysis suggests that electric utilities may face strong competition from these communities, where prosumers can share electricity. Austria is leading the way in implementing the EU regulation on energy communities, providing valuable insights for other countries. The gradual implementation of EU Directives on energy communities across Europe is also worth noting. Although the Austrian market is still in its early stages, there is already noticeable interest in energy communities. Even a conservative market development can have a significant impact on electric utilities' revenues. 💡 For a more detailed understanding of these insights, check out our perspective and contact Dr. Eva Poglitsch, Markus Schörghuber, Julian Holler, Erik Schlahn or myself. #energiewende #energytransition #Strategyand #pwc
