Stormwater Quality Permitting Process Requirements The stormwater quality permitting process requires more than just an engineer. The feature may need to be cleaned out. In the case of detention ponds, maintenance or even grading and overseeding may be necessary to bring the pond back into compliance. The stormwater quality permit process in Houston requires time/date stamped photos to verify that the pond is in “As-built” condition. In the case of end of pipe systems, a disposal manifest or most recent inspection report showing that sediment levels are below the manufacturer’s required cleanout level will need to be submitted along with permit renewal documents. In addition to the engineer’s certification, a permit application and owner’s affidavit will need to be submitted. The owner’s affidavit states that the owner has complied with the permit requirements for the last year and will continue to do so in the following one. This document needs to be notarized as well to keep everyone honest. https://lnkd.in/eevE5mka #stormwater #civilengineering #stormwaterprofessionalsgroup #texas

#POST_NO_280 #PLMG_NO_55 𝐄𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬-𝐈𝐏𝐂 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 💡 Imagine this: behind the walls of every building, silent systems work around the clock to keep everything flowing smoothly—literally. One of the key players in this silent performance? Sewer systems. Before these systems are even used, they need to be rigorously tested. That’s where the 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 (𝐈𝐏𝐂) steps in with two essential tests to make sure everything is airtight (or should I say, watertight?). 💧 🔍 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭 (𝟑𝟏𝟐.𝟕) Involves plugging the building sewer connection, filling it with water, and testing with a 𝟏𝟎-𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟏𝟓 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬 to check for any leaks. 🔧 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭 (𝟑𝟏𝟐.𝟖) Involves 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟓 𝐩𝐬𝐢 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐦𝐩’𝐬 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, after plugging the connection to the public sewer. Pressure is maintained 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟏𝟓 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬 to ensure no leaks under the increased pressure. Both tests ensure the reliability of sewer connections and prevent potential failures, leaks, or environmental hazards. Following these guidelines helps maintain the longevity of sewer systems and provides peace of mind for building owners. 🌍 Are you implementing these tests in your projects? Let’s discuss how they help ensure a high-quality sewer system! #Plumbing #BuildingCodes #SewerTesting #GravitySewer #ForcedSewer #IPCGuidelines #BuildingSafety #PlumbingSystems #Engineering #ConstructionStandards #WaterTesting #PipeIntegrity #SewerSystems #HVACDesign #SystemTesting #BuildingCompliance #SustainableEngineering #CodeCompliance

💧 Protecting #WaterResources, allowing for #ClimateChange and population growth as well as drought resilience for all communities has never been more challenging. Particularly in the East of England: it’s the most water-scarce area and receives a third less rainfall than the rest of the country. 📖 Read the latest in New Civil Engineer on how Anglian Water Services' Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA), an innovative partnership between Anglian Water, Jacobs and partners (Farrans Construction, Mott MacDonald JN Bentley and Costain Group PLC), is building a safer, future-proof water supply for the East of England. SPA is the biggest drinking water grid program in the U.K. in a generation and one of the largest #infrastructure programs in Europe. It relies on diverting water from the wettest areas in the north of the region (Lincolnshire) to the driest areas in the south and the east by building over 310 kilometers (~192 miles) of interconnected pipelines.
