Are we ready to go?” 🗣 “It sounds like we’ve got all your needs covered—shall we move forward?” ✅3) The “Assumptive Close” You're confident in your offer and assume the client is ready to move forward. You show your confidence to your client using the following phrases! 🗣 “When would you like to get started?” 🗣 “Shall we move ahead with the plan?” Don't make your closings difficult use simple language and show confidence. Building rapport is one of the most important skills in sales. The best salespeople I’ve met aren’t just great at presenting their product or service—they’re great at connecting with people. They know how to break the ice, find common ground, and create genuine relationships. But here’s the challenge: for non-native English speakers, small talk can feel awkward or intimidating. However, it’s often the key to understanding potential clients and discovering their preferences. Small talk isn’t just “filler” conversation. It’s a tool to: • Break down barriers and put people at ease. • Learn about clients’ needs, interests, and pain points. • Spot shared interests that lead to deeper conversations. Take the weather, for example. Sure, it seems like a basic or “boring” topic, but it’s actually a great way to open up dialogue. Talking about the weather can give you clues about someone’s day, their mood, or even what they value (like enjoying sunny days or the excitement of snowy adventures). These small details can help build a personal connection. In my Business English lessons, I help professionals like you become confident and natural in small talk. Together, we practice everyday topics like the weather, explore conversation starters, and develop the skills to make meaningful connections—because rapport is where sales begin. Are you a top sales pro, but struggle to communicate with the same confidence in English? Next year, I will be offering a Business English for Sales Professionals course designed to help you master the language of global business. Whether it’s refining small talk, mastering persuasion, or boosting confidence, this course will help you thrive in English-speaking markets. Keep your eyes peeled for more info! #SalesSkills #BusinessEnglish #RapportBuilding #SmallTalk #SalesTraining #SalesSuccess #EnglishForSales #GlobalBusiness #CommunicationSkills #ESL #SalesProfessionals #Networking #BusinessEnglishLessons #ESLLessons #EnglishFluency #LearnEnglish #EnglishForBusiness #EnglishForProfessionals

We have business conversations with your prospective customers. Our expert callers don’t deliver a script line-by-line – they use it to guide the conversation. When creating a script, we ask our client to fill out an in-depth questionnaire, then do further market research to discover what your existing customers value about your product or service. Our callers are well-trained and well versed. They know the ins and outs of your company and your offer. We use only North American callers who are native English speakers, so there is no language barrier. Our discovery process and caller training create a seamless experience for your prospective leads. Business executives assume they are speaking with a sales representative from your organization rather than an employee of a call centre. #LeadsCentre #LGI #LeadGeneratorsInternational #Telemarketing

This is number 2 in my series on useful phrasal verbs for English speakers in a business context! You can use the phrasal verb GO OVER in situations where you have to check something for errors. It can also mean to "look at in detail". This means you can use GO OVER when you have to find and/or talk about information. Some examples of physical things you can GO OVER: reports, articles, emails, contracts, marketing material, meeting notes etc. But you can also GO OVER an experience (which means talk about it in detail). For example, your boss may want you to "GO OVER this week's sales calls". This means they would like you to talk about every sales conversation you had that week.
