Interesting take away from Juliette Van Balen on #IFCLA2024: to combine the 3 lines of defense model with the agile world, we need to move to a trias politica model and I totally agree with that idea! IFCLA (International Federation of Computer Law Associations)

🗣 Global Class Actions Symposium 2024 | Mass Torts Today’s fourth panel, chaired by Loree Kovach of Epiq explored the realm of mass torts claims. Speakers Deborah Greenspan of Blank Rome LLP, James Brady-Banzet of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, and Joshua Neuman of Pogust Goodhead considered procedural processes in the UK and US, with the UK finding the mass tort terminology to be fairly modern, whilst the US is far more familiar with it. Further conversation dived into cross-border issues, how damages are managed in mass actions, and what factors may contribute to settlement in mass tort claims. #GCAS24
