Stop Scrolling .......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................READ THIS URGENT ADVISE! This is the important guide you need to navigate the common storms in tech. These days, it's easy to find countless testimonials of people thriving in the tech world. You see their success stories and feel frustrated because you've been working on your project for a long time, and it's not yielding results. Here's something crucial: there's a stage in tech called the "Stage of Discouragement." The funny thing is that many people mistake this for the "Failure Stage." How you handle this stage will determine your survival in the tech world. Unfortunately, many are dropping out of tech because of this misunderstanding. It wouldn't be good if you dropped out too, considering the effort you’ve put into learning tech, which is far greater than many other fields. If handled properly, this stage of discouragement can actually be a stepping stone to the next level. Tech is like difficult mathematics – the more problems you solve, the brighter you shine. You just need to brace up and not give up. Do you know that the happiest and most successful people have had their own days of discouragement? Remember, there's always a solution to every problem. Only those patient enough to find them will succeed. You will be called an expert in tech as long as you keep solving problems, and you'll remain a novice if you run from them. That's just simple arithmetic. HOPE YOU ALREADY FEEL ENCOURAGED ? feel free to repost

Technology has taken over our lives. While the pandemic slowed things down for other economic sectors, it only accelerated the technology sector’s growth as all things turned virtual. With the exciting nature of a fast-expanding industry and being part of the world’s innovation powerhouse, a career in the tech industry can be very appealing. Even so, is it the right career for you? Discoveries and inventions are the fuel that keeps the tech world going, and to discover, you must first be curious. It is essential that you have a genuine interest in technology and to continuously question: what can be done that hasn’t been done before? That curiosity should be forward-looking too, in a quickly changing world of tech, what’s cool today might not be cool tomorrow! However, curiosity alone won’t finish the job for you. You would then have to answer the questions that don’t have specific answers, demanding you be creative with your solutions. After all, the sky’s not even the limit in tech. In pursuit of a solution, you must be open-minded to new ideas and adapt to the changes you find along the way, highlighting an essential quality needed in tech: the willingness to learn. Having ideas is great! Not so great when you can’t communicate them to your team, though. It helps when you’re a team player, but you still need excellent communication skills to get your thoughts and ideas across to your colleagues. While you might be making a mental checklist on which of the qualities highlighted above you possess and concluding whether a tech career is right for you, there is yet another critical question to ask yourself: which tech job is right for you? There are 1.35 million tech startups in the world right now given the broad spectrum of companies in tech, the industry can be a place for anyone. There is a place for you and your unique strengths and talents in the industry. It is only a matter of finding the company and a role that can accommodate you. In doing so, you certainly will need to invest some of your time looking at companies that interest you and browsing through what roles they offer in the company. There are plenty of technical skills useful for each position, but blindly committing to a specific job or a particular skill in the field can be daunting. Instead, try researching for resources. Different knowledge and experience can be collected through doing online courses, joining relevant seminars, network events and going the extra mile of finding a mentor who can guide you! If you’re up for the challenge, join hackathons or boot camps for experiential learning. Through these experiences, see if you can imagine doing it for a living. There’s no more room for imposter syndrome here. Bring in your special talents and unique strengths to the ever-changing world of tech. Who knows if you’ll be the person behind the next Elon Musk? If you can dream it, you can reach it!

Thoughts from the Carpool Line: Over dinner last night, my mom and I found ourselves reminiscing about the "good ole days"- when Scantron tests felt high-tech. I might be showing my age here, but do you remember when computers were new, the sound of dial-up, or when social media meant MySpace? Fast forward just 10 years, and it’s crazy to think how much has changed. Now, it’s even harder to imagine what the next 10 years will bring. One thing we can do now is guide young people- whether they’re your own kids or students- to shape their digital identities. Help them set boundaries, define their nonnegotiables, and learn to adjust quickly. Tech Tip to Try: Ask Gemini to generate an image- it’s a fun, creative way to explore. Check out the example and share your own creations in comments.

Everybody wants to make money from tech, but not everyone understands what's involved. While some people may exaggerate about their careers and earnings, there are still individuals who earn thousands of dollars and millions of naira every month. Before you consider earning from the tech or digital space; -Learn a skill. I had someone reach out to me asking for tips on how to earn from the tech space. When I asked what skill she had, she said none. Don't be like this. -Learn in-demand skills such as data analytics, digital marketing, cloud computing, cybersecurity, web development, and more. -Develop your skill. -Volunteer or intern to gain experience and build your portfolio. -Leverage social media to showcase your work and connect with opportunities. -Be patient. Success doesn’t happen overnight. Finally, be vocal about your journey. I wish you all the best in your journey. Seeing my post for the first time? Follow and connect with Winifred Ugwueze for more valuable content on tech, tech clarity, marketing, and entrepreneurship. #TechSisi #Tech
