what do you do every time you come across a job posting?? Do you save it to apply later, or just look for another one and not even apply? I was talking to HR and this is what he mentioned to me. It’s very important to apply ASAP. You see a job posting, the longer you wait, lower are the chances of your application moving forward (in most cases). Applying early can : ▴ put your application at the top of the pile and ensure it is one of the first they review. ▴ help your resume stand out before the applicant pool becomes saturated. ▴ make it more likely your application is considered in the initial review as they may have internal deadlines. The most important factor is submitting a high-quality application that highlights your relevant skills and experience, but it is better to be safe and submit early!

#ResumeTip: Structure your work experience section for easy readability: Job Title (bolded) Company Name (italicized or plain text) Dates of Employment (aligned to the right) Below, follow with relevant and concise bullet points highlighting your key accomplishments and responsibilities. Use action verbs like ("managed", "developed", or "increased") and quantify results where possible ("Increased sales by 15% over six months"). This clean format helps recruiters quickly scan and identify your qualifications. Pro tip: Use present tense action verbs for your current role and past tense action verbs for previous positions. While it might seem like a redundant, this shows attention to detail and keeps your resume clear and consistent!

"List of What HRs Look for in a CV If you didn't get the job you wanted, it might be because your CV didn't include what the recruiters were looking for. Creating a standout CV can bring you 50 percent closer to landing your desired job. Here's what HRs are looking for in a CV: - Header (name and contact information) - Personal profile - Core competencies/skills section - Employment history/work experience - Education Each section should be tailored to fit the position you're applying for. Sometimes, adding extra sections like *awards/certifications, interests, and professional affiliations* can be advantageous."

If you just graduated college or a masters program, your resume needs to fit on one page. Period. At least the one you email to job openings. If you can't fit it ask someone who understands what belongs on a resume to help you, because you're doing something wrong.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Your resume should clearly spell out how you meet the qualifications for each job, this includes using similar job titles to the job you are applying for, having key skills the job has listed, and showing how you succeeded in past jobs not just regurgitating your job responsibilities. Using a job title like Senior Vice President sounds important but is meaningless to a recruiter because there is no baseline or industry standard of what that means. If you want to stand out amongst the 200 other candidates who applied make your resume easy to read and in the same language as the position you are applying for. It takes time and is a lot of work to make adjustments for each application, but you'll get further ahead doing that with a few applications a day than spamming the same generic resume for 100 different positions you find each day.
