When you work with so many speakers as a speaker coach, there is a certain expectation of speaker quality when it's your turn to share your thoughts on a TEDx stage. 🎤✨
And then you have to do the work.
What you usually demand from your coachees.
One hour of preparation for a minute of speaking is quite a reasonable ratio. Make sure you have a good start and a proper storyline, and focus on that one thing people should take home after they listen to your talk. 🕰️📚💡
D-day.
You are nervous as a wreck.
And you say to yourself, just like you tell your coachees: embrace it. Nervousness is great. The opposite of a nervous speaker is an arrogant speaker (and who would want to be that?). 😰👍💪
You do your job.
You leave the stage.
And you feel miserable.
Ashamed,
embarrassed.
What a terrible performance.
You withdraw from people, sit somewhere in a secret corner for the rest of the day, and hope no one says anything. 😔🕵️♀️🤫
I am such a drama-diva. 🎭👑
