Writing history Last week has been unforgettable. Tuesday, 29/10, the new Nordic Flow-Based Market Coupling went live, and Friday, 1/11, we can proudly say that the go-live went successfully. This marks one of the biggest changes in the Nordic electricity market ever. Behind this achievement are years of preparation and hard work. It represents a significant shift in how we utilize the grid and highlights the importance of Nordic coordination and collaboration. The new model, developed by the four Nordic TSOs - Fingrid, Statnett, Svenska Kraftnät, and Energinet - aligns with European electricity market regulations. It considers actual power flows, allowing for more efficient use of capacity and a more reliable power supply. This approach is crucial for the complex Nordic grid, where multiple countries are interconnected. Thank you to everyone involved for your dedication and hard work. Very good report and worth reading if you are interested in how innovative solutions indvidually but also combined ( Infinigrid AS ) can increase grid capacity on system level by 35%.

It's great to see Christian Pilgaard Zinglersen , Director of EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER), including some of the results from our most recent study, 'Prospects for Innovative Power Grid Technologies', at the opening day of the Copenhagen Infrastructure Forum. The #SmartEnergyExpertGroup #SEEG of the European Commission formally met for the first time today. Long-awaited, this gathering of Commission representatives from DG ENER and CNECT, Member States and stakeholders will steer the cybersecure, interoperable digitalisation of the increasingly decentralised and decarbonised EU energy system. The Flexible Demand Management Industry urgently needs harmonised EU rules on energy data access and sharing to complement the existing Electricity Market Design rules and activate #flexible demand across Europe.

📢 ENTSO-E’s Position on Anticipatory Investments Today, ENTSO-E participated in a Workshop organized by DG ENER on Anticipatory Investments, a key topic introduced by the Electricity Market Design Reform. This was a great opportunity for us to present our newly adopted position on the topic. While grid investments are typically covered by long-standing EU and national regulatory frameworks, anticipatory investments bring new opportunities and challenges for TSOs.
