🗞 Great news for Food Safety in India! 🇮🇳 📢 FSSAI launches Awareness Campaign on Food Safety to Test Quality of Products ! The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has launched a fantastic initiative to address pesticide residue concerns and promote overall food safety in Delhi [FSSAI launches awareness campaign on food safety aspects at prominent markets of Delhi]. I'm particularly excited about the "Food Safety on Wheel" mobile labs equipped with rapid testing kits! This allows for swift detection of pesticide residues in fruits, vegetables, milk, and cereals, empowering traders to ensure the quality and safety of their products. This campaign goes beyond testing. FSSAI is emphasizing the importance of: 💠 FSSAI licensing and registration: Highlighting the need for compliance for both traders and suppliers. 💠 Responsible sourcing: Encouraging procurement of raw materials from FSSAI-approved vendors for better traceability. 💠 Safe food handling practices: Highlighting the dangers of artificial ripening and improper wax coating, while promoting organic farming practices. This is a great collaborative effort between FSSAI, the Delhi Food Safety Department, market associations, and traders. It reinforces the message - "Food Safety is Everyone's Responsibility." #foodsafety #FSSAI #India #FoodTech #PublicHealth #QualityControl

𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 (𝐂𝐎𝐏) • Cleaning Out of Place (COP) is a critical sanitation process in food processing and manufacturing, specifically for equipment parts that need to be disassembled for thorough cleaning. • Unlike Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems, which automate the cleaning of large, stationary equipment, COP focuses on smaller or complex components such as valves, gaskets, and attachments. • These parts are removed from the main equipment, taken to dedicated cleaning stations, and subjected to washing, scrubbing, and sanitization to eliminate contaminants. • This method is essential to ensure food safety, as it addresses areas where bacteria, residues, or allergens could accumulate. • COP stations are equipped with specialized tools like soaking tanks, ultrasonic cleaners, and spray nozzles to maximize cleaning efficiency. • Implementing COP not only enhances product quality and extends equipment life but also ensures regulatory compliance with food safety standards by preventing cross-contamination and minimizing microbial hazards. #cop #cleaning #place #sanitation #safety #prevention #foodindustry #industries #cleaning #ultrasonic #equipments #resource #management #hazards #monitoring #foodsafety #regulations #compliance #foodprocessing #manufacturing #foodhygiene #foodquality #dairy #beverages #AMUL #MOTHERDAIRY #PARLE #NESTLÉ #BRITANNIA #PATANJALI #FSSAI #CFTRI #IITD #IITK #AMITY #foodscience #foodtechnology #linkedin #linkedinconnections #8am #7nov #linkedincommunity #knowledge Amul India Motherdairy Foods & Vegetables Private Limited Parle Agro Pvt Ltd Parle Products Pvt. This is how we are standardizing tribal food products Jawhar Farms is taking the initiative to educate tribal women about the standardization of the eatables that our enterprise makes. Standardization is required to set benchmarks to create taste standards, hygiene standards and whole production standards. Those benchmarks are: Recipe: The recipe must remain constant no matter on which date it is made and who makes it. In Jawhar, people keep migrating, and different Tai prepare our products on different days. Recipe standardisation ensures we always prepare the food products with the best taste and the same high quality. Packaging: The packaging should be done elegantly. The food should be well-wrapped in a way that moisture content could not enter it. Also, the shipment packaging is critical as our products are delicate and without any binding agent. Hygiene: Hygiene is one of the most crucial aspects of standardization. The food must meet the industrial-level hygiene criteria. And the tribal nutrition and goodness should reach consumers without any foreign elements. Efficiency: Efficiency of process is a key here. The process of traditional cooking via chulha is followed while several processes can go on parallely. We train the women to work simultaneously to save time. This is inspired from McDonald's standardised process of working. The above-mentioned benchmarks will aid our tribal women in standardizing the tribal farm products so that the farm goodness reaches you freshly and safely. "FSSAI's Proactive and Industry-Centred Transformation: A Game Changer for Food Safety in India" Nestle India’s Chairman and Managing Director, Suresh Narayanan, highlighted FSSAI’s evolution over the last decade, moving from a regulator to a more industry-centred and fast-responsive body. This shift is backed by the establishment of NABL-accredited labs nationwide, adding a significant layer of credibility to the food testing process. In light of the 2015 Maggi crisis, where FSSAI banned Maggi due to alleged lead content, Narayanan observed that the experience reshaped FSSAI’s approach, emphasizing collaboration with industry while maintaining stringent standards. This redefined FSSAI as a credible regulatory body, gaining respect in the food industry.
