🌊 Revitalizing Nanaimo’s Waterfront: A Vision for the Future 🌊 Nanaimo’s waterfront is stepping into its next chapter, with transformative projects that blend innovation, sustainability, and community pride. The Petroglyph Development Group (PDG), owned by the Snuneymuxw First Nation, is leading this revitalization, turning underutilized spaces into thriving destinations. The acquisition of the Sealand Market, adjacent to the Departure Bay ferry terminal, is unlocking the potential of a prime waterfront location. Long overlooked, this property is being reimagined into a vibrant hub that will draw residents and visitors alike. The waterfront’s accessibility has taken a leap forward with the introduction of the Hullo foot passenger ferry service, connecting Nanaimo and Vancouver in just 70 minutes. This addition enhances travel while strengthening Nanaimo’s role as a gateway to Vancouver Island. PDG’s work is transforming Nanaimo’s waterfront into a beacon of opportunity.✨ #NanaimoWaterfront #SustainableGrowth #CommunityVision #Reconciliation #EconomicOpportunity

🌲 Nature in the City 🌳 Historically, the 18th century marks a turning point: parks, gardens, and tree-lined promenades, open to the public, are considered essential for the physical and moral well-being of citizens. 🌿 During the Second Empire, the major urban projects undertaken in Paris by Baron Haussmann included an ambitious greening policy. Woods, parks, squares, and alignment trees were tasked with purifying, beautifying, and pacifying a rapidly growing industrial city. 🏙️ In recent years, community gardens have multiplied in the capital, and vegetable gardens now occupy unexpected spaces such as rooftops. Today, the largest urban farm in Europe is located on the roof of the Parc des Expositions in the 15th arrondissement! 🌲 Recently, an urban forest was inaugurated at Place de Catalogne, just steps away from Montparnasse station: 470 trees of various sizes and species have been planted. 🍃 Although it will take about ten years for them to reach their full height, they are already helping to cool the atmosphere, capture carbon, and preserve biodiversity. 🌱 This site, once very mineral, now offers a completely different face. Compared to other major European capitals, Paris still lacks green spaces, so every step forward is valuable! 🇫🇷 Arriving in France and looking to integrate better and fully experience French culture during your expatriation?
