We’re excited to have HomeCooks on the ENVOY growth platform! 🚀 They're a unique marketplace connecting food lovers with authentic, handcrafted dishes by incredibly skilled independent chefs. It started as a serendipitous conversation (...OK the omnipresent Federico Traeger played a part) with their inspirational co-founder Joshua M. about community! The HomeCooks online community defined their journey during Covid. We quickly realised a joint passion for “WOW! moments” and how important word-of-mouth is in communities - in their case those who value restaurant quality ready meals from independent chefs. We quickly set up a proof of concept based on innovative user journey's by Francisco Fidalgo (I’m not going to give it away, you have to try their product…) In short, if you have a WOW! moment in your product and you want to reward a “next action” from your users to generate organic growth and community, start thinking in terms of word-of-mouth and what tools you can use efficiently in the digital and social realm. Watch the cost of customer acqusition fall and return on ad spend rise. #growth

What's your opinion on going with an all-in-one tech platform vs. specialists? I'll go first: when we started Ovation, we tried to be everything to anyone. We worked with tons of verticals and provided feedback, reputation management, marketing, loyalty, streaming service, dog groomers...(ok maybe not all of those)... And this didn't work for us. Internally, we weren't focused on solving one problem and so we'd go on product wild goose chases. And externally, it made our value prop less clear. When we decided to become the best guest feedback tool for restaurants, we took off. We became so intimately aware of the problem we were solving and created best-in class solutions that restaurants have loved (not to mention it is an industry i have known so well and love so much!!). On the other hand, I see the appeal of the generalists. You don't have to put as much effort into building your tech stack, understanding deep problems, thinking about integrations, etc. But you sacrifice quality in each area. I personally see building your tech stack similar to building a starting line. The whole thing needs to be solid, not just one piece. If you're interested in this, Joe Guszkowski from Restaurant Business put a great piece together about this with Abhinav Kapur and me. I truly appreciate the conversation and interested in everyone's thoughts! Read here: https://lnkd.in/eXwDSUva

Have you ever used a service like 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 to order ingredients and recipes? Whether you enjoyed the quality of their ingredients or not (𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥), there are 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 why this service has become so popular. 👉 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭, they send you a 𝐩𝐫𝐞-𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬, so you don't need to worry about what to cook, and you won't need to spend time shopping. 👉 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝, HelloFresh makes us 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (preparing food following the recipe and using ingredients someone prepared for us) rather than spending time planning and shopping. These are the same principles I used to create my 𝟑𝟎-𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐩. My program gives clients a 𝐩𝐫𝐞-𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐝, 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐲 of what to post on social media 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐲, eliminating the stress of content creation. No more thinking. 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. 🎯 By the way... We're organizing a new round of members in the program starting on the 𝟏𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫. Let me know if you want to be part of it.

🌟 Project Spotlight: Enhancing Digital Connections at Camberwell Fresh Food Market 🌟 As part of my work with Camberwell Fresh Food Market, I recently took the initiative to create two new digital tools—because sometimes, you just see an opportunity and know it’s the right move! Here's what I put together: 1️⃣ Link-in-Bio: A central hub that connects our social media followers to key resources like the Foodie Feed Newsletter, trader profiles, and our website—all in just one click. 2️⃣ Carrd Microsite: A sleek, mobile-friendly site that houses every trader's social media, website, and contact details. This makes it easier than ever for customers to connect with their favourite traders. Why I did this (without being asked): 🛍️ Improved Customer Experience: Simplifying access to trader information and market updates is a no-brainer. 📈 Boosted Trader Visibility: Supporting our traders’ digital presence helps their businesses thrive. 🤝 Stronger Community Connections: I’m passionate about creating tools that help our market feel more connected and vibrant. In a fast-moving digital world, I believe in going above and beyond to ensure we’re delivering value—not just for our market, but for the amazing small businesses that make it special. This project is proof of the impact small innovations can have, and I’m proud to have driven it forward. #SocialMediaStrategy #DigitalMarketing #CommunityEngagement #CamberwellFreshFoodMarket #LocalBusiness #CustomerExperience #MarketingInnovation

Ever dreamed of starting a food business, only to face reality's simpler demands? That's what happened to Steve Ells, whose burrito stand bloomed into Chipotle. Limited funding can be a harsh reality check, but for Ells, it became something much bigger. Today, Chipotle is a well-known fast-casual Mexican restaurant chain with over 3,400 locations worldwide. Chipotle's vision is clear: "Food with Integrity." This commitment goes beyond words – they actively promote it through "cause marketing." Chipotle ditches traditional advertising for a savvy social media strategy. Their strong presence keeps fans engaged and hungry for more. The popular Haiku contests! They've launched this creative campaign and the "Cultivating Thought Campaign”. Both of these featured thought-provoking messages on cups and bags, often penned by popular authors. And let's not forget the star-studded Cultivate Festival. This event series showcased organic food resources. Not only did it generate media buzz, but it also fostered a positive brand image for the 300,000 attendees. What does Chiptole do to keep the conversation going? Simple email marketing. Regular newsletters highlight new menu items, special offers, and delicious recipes. And when it comes to meaningful content marketing, Chipotle isn't shy. Their sponsorship of the "Food For Thought" column on the Huffington Post is just another example of their commitment to responsible food practices. Chipotle's "cause marketing" isn't just about building a business; it's about building a genuine connection with customers through shared values. #chipotle #FoodWithIntegrity #marketing #customerengagement #publicrelations #StartupPR #startup #pr
