Congrats team Lodestar Space to closing this £2.5M pre seed round! Off to the (new space) races. At Inflection.xyz we are committed to pioneer sovereign computation as the biggest leverage for human progress. The space economy will help us provide valuable services from imagery and connectivity on earth all the way to in space semiconductor production, energy harnessing, regulating the earths climate and becoming an interplanetary species in the long run. Object manipulation is a very present bottleneck for repair, refuelling and other services. As opposed to tele operated robots that come with high latency, connectivity issues, human failure and high costs Lodestar Space is taking a different approach. By leveraging new materials, additive manufacturing and advancements in AI and in-space „edge“ compute capabilities (see our portfolio Cryptosat) they enable autonomous robotics operating in real time and far beyond human precision. Based on their space specific data set - robots and objects behave very differently at 0 gravity, extreme light conditions and temperatures - new applications and interfaces become possible. Data network effects are expected to accelerate development across verticals. Taking over Times Square - again! 🍎 It’s been 5 years since I joined Insider. In that time, we’ve celebrated many achievements - but nothing beats this latest milestone, and seeing the faces of our shareowners on the Nasdaq Tower. Fun fact: Times Square is so brightly lit at night that astronauts on the International Space Station can easily identify the neighborhood from outer space. Last week, if those astronauts had looked down, it was our team shining bright. This journey is *literally* out of this world. 🧑🚀 For me, seeing Insider take over Nasdaq is a symbol of the hard work, grit, and determination that define the Insider spirit. On the heels of Flight 6 of Starship, I'm excited to share that I was featured in Space Capital’s latest report, "The Next Giant Leap: Why Starship Matters and How It Will Impact the Space Economy." Being included alongside Thomas Mueller, Eric Romo, Delian Asparouhov, Lee Rosen, David Caponio, Jaret Matthews, Paul Day, Karan Kunjur, Ben Nowack, Justin Cyrus, and Lewis Hong, is a true honor. One of the key insights I shared focused on a challenge I routinely witness firsthand in the space sector: the senior talent shortage. Many companies are searching for top-tier engineers with fingerprints in space, but this limits the talent pool to a small, mostly homogeneous group. On page 20 of the report, we explore how Starship will change this shortage. The shift I expect we'll see isn’t just about filling the talent gap — it’s about innovating with fresh ideas and perspectives.
