Today, June 5, is the "International Environment Day", a date that invites us to celebrate the riches of the planet and highlight the adversities it faces. This commemorative date was created by the United Nations in 1972, to stimulate changes in attitudes and raise global awareness of the search for sustainable postures, that is, leading society to commit to the balance between business development and the exploitation of natural resources. This balance is indispensable for the future of the new generations. And dealing with this issue is evident the importance of mentioning ESG (Enviroment - Social - Governance). ESG is composed of the Pillars: 🌎 Environmental. 🗣️ Social. 📈 Governance. "Defending and improving the environment for current and future generations has become a fundamental goal for humanity." - (Declaration of the UN Conference on the Environment). The ESG ecosystem addresses the adoption of best practices for companies aimed at reducing damage to the environment, including attention to topics such as global warming, water scarcity, among others, also plays a prominent role in the criteria that should be applied to the use of financial indices and business decision making, in order to mitigate risks. 🌍 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders Urges Decisive Steps Ahead of COP29 The Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders—the largest CEO-led climate coalition globally, representing 131 companies across 27 countries and 12 industries with a combined worth of $4 trillion—has released an open letter to global leaders. Ahead of #COP29, this letter emphasizes urgent, collaborative actions to drive decarbonization and align with the #ParisAgreement goals. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀: 🌡️ 85% of members are committed to 1.5°C/2°C-aligned Scope 1+2 targets. 📉 Achieved a 10% reduction in absolute emissions and a 12% reduction in emissions intensity (2019-2022). 🌍 Represents ~10% of global emissions, with 5.2 Gt CO₂e total emissions. 🎯 Targets to mitigate >1 Gt CO₂e annually by 2030.
