CREATE has been launched! On 14th of march at 13:00 MEZ the REXUS 31 rocket lifted from the MRL launchpad in ESRANGE, Kiruna 🚀 91 seconds after liftoff CREATE received the signal from the service module of the rocket to start the experiment phase. In the following two and a half minutes the experiment 3D-printed carbon reinforced PLA samples while experiencing microgravity. We are extremely happy to announce that the experiment setup worked as intended and the samples could successfully be recovered after flight! Team CREATE is now back in Germany where it will soon start with the investigation of the produced samples. We would once again like to take the chance to thank Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. ,ZARM , SSC - Swedish Space Corporation and European Space Agency - ESA for the incredible experiences we were allowed to collect along the way from the selection workshop in 2021 to the launch campaign of the last two weeks. But that's not it! Just recently our abstract to European Space Agency - ESAs Rocket and Ballon Symposium in Luzern in May 2024 got accepted! On this conference we will publish and present a paper with the results of CREATE. Stay tuned! First image by Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. (MORABA)

Two years ago, the Israeli Rakia Mission successfully introduced a groundbreaking approach of open access to human spaceflight missions, as part of the AX-1 mission to the ISS. The mission served as an innovative platform to conduct dozens of experiments for hundreds of entrepreneurs, scientists, companies, and organizations, making a significant impact. Last week, the Israeli Space Week took place in a slightly different format, due to the difficult times our country is currently going through. This year's Space Week focused on the challenges and opportunities that the space industry is facing in the current reality, and its potential contribution to the Israeli economy. During the event, we made a significant announcement – revealing that the Rakia Mission and the Israel Space Agency are establishing the first Israeli Space Forum. There is no doubt that the space industry can serve as a vehicle for economic and social growth today, perhaps more than ever before. To promote the space industry in Israel and move it forward, the establishment of this forum expresses the necessity of a partnership between various entities in the country. Through the forum, companies, startups, and entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to interact with investors, government bodies, academia, and local and global space representatives. Mr. Eric Hauck, head of the Catalan government delegation for Southeast Europe, based in Croatia, received the president of the Adriatic Aerospace Association, Mr. Slobodan Bosanac, for a visit on April 18 on the topic of cooperation in the field of space. The Government of Catalonia launched the New Space Strategy program with the aim of establishing Catalonia as a center for innovation and attracting talent in the space economy. One of the leading projects within the Catalan NewSpace strategy is the installation and operation of a small satellite constellation. To date, three satellites have already been launched, with plans for a constellation of more than eight units by 2026. Furthermore, Catalonia is home to Catalonia SpacePort, located at Lleida-Alguaire Airport, which serves as a key hub for NewSpace activities . Our knowledge and R&D ecosystem in the NewSpace domain revolves around institutions such as the NanoSat Lab at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), the Institut d'Estudis Espacials de Catalunya (IEEC), the i2Cat Foundation and the Center Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC ).In the conversation about cooperation, mutual interest in the development of joint projects was expressed, bearing in mind the transfer of technology and science in both directions. Possibilities of involving I and other representatives of the Southeast Europe region were also considered.

We are thrilled to be part of this exciting project and to collaborate with our esteemed partners, HPS High Performance Space Structure Systems GmbH and the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. - Institute for Space Systems in Bremen. The recent 1 MEUR co-funding contract awarded by European Space Agency - ESA is a significant milestone, and we’re eager to contribute to the development of innovative foils for space applications, particularly in reducing spacecraft reflectivity—a game-changer for the astronomical community. The immediate kick-off of the project is a testament to the swift and effective processes enabled by ESA’s new GSTP sub-programme "Product Initiative." It's impressive how quickly ESA identified, accepted, and moved forward with this project, turning an idea into a contract within just six months. This efficiency is exactly what the European space ecosystem needs, especially for driving innovation among SMEs. At Aerospace & Advanced Composites GmbH (AAC), we are fully committed to ensuring the success of this initiative. The innovation processes we’ve launched for these foils are set to result in groundbreaking products that will have a lasting impact on space technology. Working alongside such dedicated partners guarantees that the outcomes will be nothing short of exceptional. Thanks to European Space Agency - ESA for their ambition and to FFG Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mbH for their support. We look forward to the incredible advancements this collaboration will bring.
