Very excited to say that in just couple of weeks, I'll be attending the Blue Earth Summit in London 🌎 I’ll be there representing ArchAI, where we’ll be launching Lost Habitats. Lost Habitats incorporates a bespoke AI to create a digital twin of historic habitats and landscapes, tracking changes over time, and uncovering crucial insights that can drive nature recovery, rewilding, conservation, and natural capital investment 🌱 What makes this even more special is that, for the first time, my work with ArchAI and CampWild UK is coming together. ArchAI reveals the hidden stories of nature and history within the land, while CampWild enables people to reconnect with these landscapes through immersive outdoor experiences. The connections we make at Blue Earth Summit - with rewilding projects, conservation groups, and landowners - will be valuable for both projects, allowing us to both reveal the story of the land and help people experience it firsthand. The Blue Earth Summit is all about combining business, tech, and the outdoors to solve some of the biggest challenges we face, from sustainability to protecting the natural world. I’m excited to meet fellow innovators, adventurers, and leaders in sustainability, and to explore how technology can drive real environmental change. If you're attending, I’d love to grab a coffee, share ideas, and discuss how we can work together. I will be in the City most of the week so let’s make the most of this opportunity to connect! 💬☕ Drop me a message, or comment below if you're heading to Blue Earth Summit - let’s meet up! #blueearthsummit #sustainability #ecoadventure #losthabitats #networking

🌳Since my childhood, I have always been drawn to the outdoors. The tranquility of the wilderness, the thrill of camping, the challenge of a mountain bike ride, the quiet moments in the green – these experiences continually shape my understanding of the world and our place within it. And they have shape my approach to my work at Artemide DACH . We're not just designing lighting solutions – we're creating a sustainable future, guided by the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Global Compact. Our commitment to sustainability isn't a recent development; since the company's foundation, we have been designing and producing with sustainability in mind. That is reflected in our classics and my all-time favorites like Tizio, Tolomeo, Megaron, and Eclisse. These products embody our dedication to quality, sustainability, and innovative design. But we're not stopping there. We're continually seeking ways to improve, to innovate, and to reduce our environmental impact. In fact, we've already reduced our GHG emissions by 45% since 2017, and we're committed to further reductions in the coming years. I'd love to hear your thoughts on how we can continue to drive sustainability in our industry. #Artemide #Sustainability #Design #Innovation

𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘂𝗽 for the sustainable inspirational session of Prof. Dr. Kai Tiedemann | 3 July 2024 📣 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: 📊🔍 Measurements of physical parameters in our environment are standard procedures. We are constantly exposed to information on temperature, humidity, UV intensity, and more. However, how people perceive these magnitudes varies greatly. At 19°C, for instance, some feel comfortable while others find it chilly. This perception can often be explained by factors such as gender, socio-cultural background, or economic situation. The Living Lab Healthy Spaces, within the framework of the Euregional Sustainability Center, investigates these 'fixed effects' and their explanatory value for perceived environmental quality. 🌿 𝗗𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: https://lnkd.in/eb9-DEtp ✅ #Sustainability #LivingLab #EnvironmentalQuality #UrbanImprovement #EuregionalSustainabilityCenter #HochschuleRheinWaal #FontysVenlo Fons Claessen | Vincent Pijnenburg | Ronald Jansen | Steve Clemens | Ted Jonkers | Anke Franssen | Liane Sayuri Honda

🌐 World Green Roof Day - June 6, 2024 🌍 Join us in celebrating #WorldGreenRoofDay, #WGRD2024 is significant event for anyone passionate about sustainable buildings, biodiversity net gain and combating climate change. This annual celebration showcases the architectural design, technology, and innovation that allow us to blend engineering with ecology, creating habitats and growing plants on top of man-made structures. 🌍 🌳 At Gentian, we harness proprietary deep learning technology and multi-spectral satellite and aerial imagery to detect, measure, and monitor vegetation. Our technology, developed over two years with support from the UK Space Agency and European Space Agency - ESA, has been validated by independent third parties, proving its effectiveness as a viable alternative to manual surveys. 👨 Dusty Gedge is a co-founder of Gentian Limited, specialising in using technology to assess green infrastructure with a focus on biodiversity. With 25 years of experience, he is a recognized designer and advisor in urban green infrastructure. 💡 Using our remote sensing technology, we provide quick and cost-effective surveys detailing the presence of different habitat types, enabling organisations to make informed decisions and set measurable targets. Our technology is applicable in both urban and rural #landscapes. 💚 Green roofs are not just about aesthetics; they play a crucial role in climate resilience, enhancing biodiversity, and fostering healthier urban living. The ocean's coral reefs, known as the "rainforests of the sea," are rapidly disappearing, but Archireef has shown that innovation and nature can work together to restore this fragile ecosystem. We were delighted to welcome Flo Janin 🪸 and Vriko Yu to the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi. Archireef's proprietary Reef Tiles, the world's first 3D-printed from terracotta clay, are a game-changer for coral reef restoration efforts. With over 50% of the world's coral cover already lost, the global community faces challenges such as food shortages, diminished coastal protection, and a weakened ocean economy. Archireef's technology restores corals with its proprietary 3D-printed Reef Tile technology, delivering an industry-leading coral survivorship of 95%. Their science-based approach integrates biomimicry and non-toxic materials, creating modular tiles weighing around 12kg that can be placed on the seabed by divers without heavy machinery. Archireef proves that technology can work in harmony with nature to protect and rebuild our oceans. We're grateful to them for sharing their impactful work at WFES, and we look forward to seeing how they continue to lead in coral reef restoration!

I went to a Tech Innovation Conference and left thinking about sustainability. 🤔 Last week saw the second #InnovationChallenge in the #IsleofMan supported by Digital Isle of Man, Finance Isle of Man, Business Isle of Man. I could talk about: - the caliber of the finalists = 💯 - how excited I was for the winners (especially Steve Clarke, re-universe & Cindy van Niekerk, Umazi 👏🏼 ) - the inspirational speakers ( Professor Sue Black OBE, Mike Rose) - the celebration of an ecosystem coming together 💚 But, the biggest concept that I resonated with was "embedding the Biosphere”. “Meeting the needs of today without compromising the ability to meet the needs of tomorrow.” If you didn’t know - the Isle of Man has an incredible accolade to its name... I’m not talking about the birthplace of the BeeGees or Chips, Cheese & Gravy day, or indeed the most dangerous road race in the world (the Isle of Man TT). It is the only WHOLE NATION UNESCO #biosphere in the world. Yep, you read that...IN. THE. WORLD. Globally, there are 748 UNESCO biospheres in 134 countries. Innovation Judge, Sarah Mercer cofounder of Earthscope Isle of Man, reminded a captivated audience that embedding the principles of “biosphere” into our organisations is one of THE most important things we can do. >>>>Embed the biosphere at the very core of whatever we do and all decision-making should come from a place of consideration for it<<<< It was something that was inspirationally echoed by nearly every challenge finalist. Impressive... and clearly a successful challenge set! 👏🏼 And, it’s relevant for all organisations even if they’re not in the Isle of Man (but especially in small island nations!) What does it mean to be in a BIOSPHERE? How can your organisation embody the principles? -> ECONOMY > care and promote the culture and heritage of where you live AND contribute to a vibrant workforce -> ENJOYMENT > access, appreciate AND celebrate our culture, heritage and community -> ENVIRONMENT > connect with nature, preserve biodiversity AND understand the importance of, and challenges facing, the environment -> ENGAGEMENT > engage on challenges with conservation AND sustainability -> EDUCATION > be a catalyst for good decision-making AND innovative solution finding If you’re in the Isle of Man, you can pledge to protect our environment now and in the future. Join, along with SQR (Fintech Innovation Challenge 2023 winners 😜), by signing up to be a UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man partner, link in the comments. 🎉 YinndySagh, Gaelg Aboo 🇮🇲
