Our new Sustainability Report 2023 is here! Find out how we at Körber are driving forward our sustainability initiative in the dimensions Environment, Social and Governance. At Körber we contribute to sustainability with our technological power and expertise. We continued to pursue this strategy in 2023 and achieved the following highlights, among others: - Targets: In October 2023, we had the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) verify our commitment to achieving net-zero CO₂e emissions throughout the entire value chain by 2040. - Dimension Environment: In 2023, our efforts led to a 14 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to the previous year. - Dimension Social: 99 percent of managers participated in the global talent development program GPS in 2023. - Dimension Governance: 94 percent of the relevant purchasing volume is covered by supplier ESG self-assessments in 2023. Our journey in 2023 is a remarkable testament to this: ▶️ In October 2023, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) verified our commitment to achieving net-zero CO₂e emissions throughout the entire value chain by 2040. ▶️ Our efforts led to a 14 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to the previous year. ▶️ We made significant progress in shaping responsible supply chains and continuously evaluating the sustainability progress of more than 5,000 Körber suppliers. ▶️ We further implemented our Ecodesign Guideline in the Körber Business Areas. These are just a few of the topics highlighted through numbers, facts, stories, and expertise in the report. I am particularly proud that this Sustainability Report provides examples of our sustainable products, solutions, and services for each Business Area. Sustainable parcel delivery in a ‘double pack’ 🚛 🌍 The Spanish CEP specialist FURGO-TRAYLER is adding 25 new EcoDuo combinations from Schmitz Cargobull to its fleet. These EcoDuos consist of 50 S.BO EXPRESS dry freight trailers, each connected via a dolly and pulled by just one tractor unit. The EcoDuo vehicle combinations, which make a significant contribution to reducing CO₂ emissions, have been authorised in Spain since the beginning of 2024 and offer considerable advantages: 🌱 Reduced CO₂ emissions 🔋 Fuel savings 📦 Optimised logistics processes Joan Monzón, CEO of Furgo-Trayler, emphasises the reliability, safety and robustness of the Schmitz Cargobull trailers, which fit perfectly with the company's growth strategy. This investment is part of the EcoTrailer programme, with which Furgo-Trayler aims to reduce its environmental footprint by 30% over the next five years. Last week, the Febelauto team attended the 29th ETRA European Tyre Recycling Association conference in Brussels, which focused on the theme ‘Circular Transition in Tyre Recycling’. It was an enlightening experience to delve into the latest innovations and initiatives driving sustainability in the tyre recycling sector. Rubber from end-of-life tyres has a lot of potential for second-life applications and it was inspiring to witness the numerous opportunities being explored in this area. From innovative recycling processes to new products, to advances in tyre retreading, the conference shed light on the transformative power of circular thinking. Our experience at the conference confirmed our belief in the importance of sustainable practices in the automotive industry.
