University of Oxford [10] Great interests by the guys but well - a sense of urgency would be welcome ... ... [1]debt - the love of money is the root of all evil [2]populism - has hatred (divisiveness) at its core [3]euthanasia - not in line with religion - the desire to take one's own life is indicative of a path into disease resulting from life in Hell (the world we live in currently) [4]environmental justice - just as taking one's own life is not in line with religion - destroying the environment - since it results in human life supports failing - pretty much the same thing [5]racism - see populism divisiveness above [6]humanitarianism - the world that religion has in mind of people having adopted love as motivation [7]church-state relations - the state is a false construct [8]theological significance of biological origins - abstraction layers entail that to be human we need not consider animal origins - the animal has no mind in the sense that man may [9]machine learning - just a tool that's great in the hands of wisdom and catastrophic otherwise [10]mediation in Christian theology - requires an understanding of semantics and how the structure of a Mind defines semantic context of words/ideas.

Affirmative and Proving Solutions to Solve the Problem of Conflict of Narrations https://lnkd.in/de4sdHnN Authors : Sayyed Ali Hashemi Khanbasi 1 Morteza Aqaie Varaki 2 1 Department of Islamic Education and Theology, Sari University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Sari, Iran 2 Department of Islamic Education and Theology, Faculty of Theology, University of Mazandaran, Babolsar, Iran Abstract Conflict is one of the oldest fundamental (Usul) debates. The concern of solving this hadith problem, which has a direct effect on the inference of religious rules, is reflected in many traditions. Throughout history, the fundamentalists have explained the issues of conflict in detail and presented several criteria and classifications. The current research, using a descriptive-analytical method based on library and documentary information and using fundamental (Usul) sources and rules, tries to take a new step in the review of this debate by presenting a new division of affirmative and proving solutions. The solutions to prove the rules are in the stage of argumentation and proof, and the solutions to affirm the rules do not take the reason into consideration. Affirmative solutions can be divided into two areas: legislation of the rule and exercising the rule. Applying the affirmative method of legislation, and neglecting or planning it is effective in the perfection or deficiency of the legislative area. The precise explanation of the index of perfection or deficiency of legislation can have a significant effect on providing affirmative method of legislation which is considered in this article. Applying or neglecting the affirmative method of compliance is effective in the quality and quantity of compliance of the rule, application of which is documented based on the quantitative and qualitative criteria of compliance. Examining these issues and generalizing them to governmental jurisprudence and generally additional jurisprudence mentioned in this article can increase the capacity of the principles of jurisprudence in dealing with today issues. I have found this a brilliant book to understand a perspective on how it is good both for religion and science when theology is treated as the first truth discourse. I am pleased to recommend it to imams and anyone in the field of da'wah in order to gain a constructive insight into the historical philosophical considerations that underpin the question about truth in relation to science and religion today. https://lnkd.in/eXtARRf6

Theology and Technology Or should that be Theology versus Technology? Technology has innovation and moving boundaries at its heart while Theology is about setting boundaries and holding on to principles in an ever changing world. This thought is coming more and more to the forefront in Malawi because of CodeXplorer Limited's attendance at the Ufanuzi Tech and Theology Summit in Mangochi. In some ways tech has helped religions. Like AI and chatbots helping to engage members of congregations by answering questions, helping to put together personalised Scripture reading schedules. Even in translating sermons to multiple languages (including sign languages) in real time. But religion does have set principles so where do we draw the line? For example, imagine a confessional booth with a chatbot on the other side of the confessional instead of a member of the Clergy (and all the privacy matters involved in that). Or the Fajr prayer being called over a city, voiced by AI generated voice. Or people not knowing what to say in prayer and asking AI to help them, when Bible says God has a way of dealing with prayers that we can not put into words.... Where do we draw the line. Many other examples can be seen in this article by Otermans Institute - https://t.ly/Up0Mh There is also the moral side or rather the ethics side of the matter. With AI making work easier, won't employees be cheating by writing proposals and administrative documents all by AI generation and lying that they wrote it? Or even sermons being written by AI. Is the human touch going to be seen as inefficient? On the other hand, there are some common grounds for both Tech and Theology. Tech is based on laws, rules and codes that can be applied in different ways but the principles remain. Just like in religion some have said God moves in so many different ways on an individual basis but in the larger scheme of things God never changes. As the Theology and Tech Summit commences, we hope to learn alot more. But please share your thoughts on how Tech and Theology will continue to move in the future. Against each other or with each other?

New publication -- Religion Scholarship on Indigenous Land: Research, Relationship, and the Potential of Engaged Scholarship In this article in the Journal for the Study of Religion, Nature and Culture, I think with Indigenous scholars about research ethics and relationally in the context of religious studies. I reflect (sometimes aspirationally) about what engaged research on religion might look like. https://lnkd.in/gzFbqXXF

What a pleasure to be discussing “Theology after Gaza” with some of the most greatest theologians. Some questions we are discussing at this crucial juncture include the following. What responsibilities do theologians and scholars of different faith traditions have in the face of genocide and ethnic cleansing? Do theologians and scholars of religion have moral duties beyond the traditional one of speaking truth to power, especially since it is evident that the powerful know the truth but choose to ignore it? How can these external pressures be resisted, and the prophetic role of theology be asserted? How have the notions of “antisemitism” been weaponized to silence advocacy on behalf of the Palestinian people, and how can this weaponization be resisted? How can scholars and researchers in vulnerable positions, including students and precarious academics, be protected against reprisals? What kinds of theological research are scholars obliged to undertake in the face of genocidal aggression? What role can scholars from the Global South play against the weaponizing of scriptures by western theology, the State of Israel, or certain Islamic groups or countries? What are crucial steps necessary to decolonize theology and knowledge productions?

Analytic philosophy of religion and philosophical theology are known for being focused on issues pertaining specifically to Judeo-Christian theism. This volume answers the call for novel work on a broader range of ideas about the spiritual, engaging with key concepts and neglected recent literature from other traditions. Alternative Conceptions of the Spiritual engages with polytheism, animism, panspiritism and theophanism as propounded by recent philosophers and members of lesser-known spiritual traditions and new religious movements. Summarizing and assessing their core ideas and arguments with both clarity and sympathy, Dumsday combines respectful dialogue with logical rigour. Providing an accessible introduction to a rich and nuanced set of traditions largely overlooked in contemporary philosophical scholarship, the work will be welcomed by philosophers, theologians and students of new religious movements. https://amzn.to/4eFWtkm

HEPHZIBAH INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES THE CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE CARES. The theology diploma issue as a credential to serve is a matter that should be open for scrutiny and concensus allowed for thorough engagement to realize a win win. I can't advocate for ministries to be run with mediocrity neither can I go with governments dictatorial traits or religious ignorance. The church is not limited to theological strategies alone but an arena for an all round growth, kingdom affairs are diverse needing an open approach to resolve matters arising. We have variety of courses that can cause thriving in life and if ministry will be about certification then they should be put to consideration. Genuinty is not in papers and motives cannot be read in signatures or billboards. I have been in ministry since 2018 na sijawai tapeli yeyote I have never received funding from anyone or any organisation I fund my dealings na kama kuna mwenye anaweza sema ametapeliwa by me ama via HEPHZIBAH INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES aseme, kama kunaye mwenye anaweza sema amenifund aseme in public. It's not about money it's about divine assignment nevertheless I cannot sweep under the carpet the issue of manipulation and extortion in the name of ministries but there is a procedure that is provided for in the constitution of the land and any offender should be dealt with in accordance to the law and if found guilty charged as any other criminal for no one is above the law. Biasness and immature approaches based on political interests should sieze and truth and justice prevail. Mathew 9:36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field Founder and Overseer HIM: Prophet NJOROGE J NJOROGE.
