🎉 Today, we officially kicked off the #JIMMY – Youth Information Mediator eLearning course, bringing together 20 dedicated youth workers and professionals. This course, created to strengthen youth information and counselling skills, offers participants the chance to dive deep into youth information resources, address key questions from young people, and master specialised interview methods used in the field. Over the next five weeks, they’ll participate in webinars, interactive sessions, and practical exercises to enhance their expertise. A special thanks to our expert trainers, Carolina Loureiro and Kadri Koort-Kauniste, supported by shadow trainers Myriam and Milos Blagojevicš. We're looking forward to an inspiring journey ahead! 🚀 #YouthWork #YouthInformation #Counselling #Training #JIMMYCourse #ERYICA

Why is it important to attend a conference? Conferences are about building and strengthening a sense of community. These events give you an opportunity to build relationships with people who share your interests. That empowers you to build a wider network of people from whom you can learn and with whom you can keep in contact while building your career #Englishlearning #Selfmotivation #ESL

Really looking forward to delivering this important webinar for AELP on May 15th. The English Functional Skills requirements are challenging in their assessment expectations but are an essential alternative to GCSEs and need to be positively embraced. The interactive webinar aims to address some of the key challenges and explore different approaches needed to allow learners to be successful in the attainment of the necessary knowledge, skills and confidence needed to achieve a pass. Some feedback from previous sessions: "Great session thank you" "Excellent session thank you Christine" "Many thanks, Christine. Very useful." "Thank you, this was very helpful" If this is an area for development then I recommend that you join me on this session. There are still a few places left, here is the link to the booking page: https://lnkd.in/g8ecS25z #english #functionalskills #functionalenglish #lifelonglearning #skillsforlife

Gaining meaningful work is important, but it can be difficult getting that first job or making the move into your dream profession, especially during your first five years in Australia. At our Inspire Me program, we know that digital literacy is an essential life skill for everyday life. Our experience in teaching digital literacy to newly arrived migrants and refugees will build the skills, experience and confidence to do so. Computer classes are delivered in a small group, using lesson plans. These lesson plans orient the participant in using a computer and using Microsoft Word. Lessons support learning and skills development in: - mouse and keyboard skills - typing skills - formatting skills - creating word documents including your resume. The course also supports internet skills, with some of the activities designed to assist with living in Australia, employability skills and employment seeking, with education on short and long-term career goals. 𝗔𝗠 𝗜 𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗢𝗥 𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗬 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚? Louis von Francois very well said that “We never listen when we are eager to speak”. Most of the times, almost all of us want to get our idea across without understanding and making the effort to listen to the other person’s point. The question to ask here is “Am I listening or only hearing?”. Imagine we being as eager to listen as we are eager to speak. I am sure our relationships will be much different if we reframe this situation. This was one of the key concepts in the 2nd session of my communication training “Spoken English and Client Persuasion” at the American Academy of Continuing Education & Mentorship (ACEM). The training was attended by 50 students, mostly online. I was glad to be informed by the Head of the institute that the first session was attended by 1,375 people offline. It is satisfying to know that many people are benefiting from these training sessions. I am looking forward to more equipping sessions. #listeningskills #communicationskills #softskills #english #clientpersuasion
