The December Edition of Port Esbjerg’s News Brief has landed! In this edition, CEO Dennis Jul Pedersen reflects on and wraps up 2024 and looks into the new year. 2024 has been another busy and transformative year for the port. The expansion of Port Esbjerg has enabled us to navigate through the pressure on the global supply chain in the light of geopolitical turmoil by offering companies at the port more space, improved infrastructure, and additional opportunities. On this strong foundation, we look to the coming year with optimism. You can also read more about the Dominion Energy’s milestone project Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW), where the first jacket foundation for the offshore substation was successfully completed and shipped from Port Esbjerg following an extended period of work. Additionally, a new and innovative project is underway at the port. Port Esbjerg is collaborating closely with DanPilot - Danish State Pilotage and its subsidiary VesCo to test the use of drones for assisting pilots in safely navigating ships into the port. This project is cutting edge in Europe and is attracting attention from other European ports. Lastly, you can read about Niels Winther Liner Agencies, new routes to North America. The US is the largest export market for Danish and other European companies, and this new route will bring more traffic and cargo to and from the port.
