Bump the lamp. Reflecting on the timeless classic, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," I'm struck by the film's pioneering spirit and attention to detail. As one of the earliest examples of seamlessly integrating animation with live-action, it set a new standard for cinematic innovation. In a memorable scene, Eddie Valiant's incidental interaction with Roger Rabbit, masterfully portrayed by Bob Hoskins, led to what is now affectionately known as "bumping the lamp." This meticulous detail, where Roger's head nudges a nearby lamp, adds an extraordinary touch of realism to the animated character's presence. Check out our graduation project Echo at IED Istituto Europeo di Design. "Echo" is a fully CG action fantasy short film that tells the dramatic story of two brothers, blending video game and reality. This short film envisions a world closer to our own than we might like to admit, where technology can virtually recreate any person. In the story, the protagonist simulates his deceased brother in their favorite video game. Our aim was to surprise the audience by keeping the reality outside the game hidden until the film's conclusion. From the outset, the short film was a challenge due to the high volume of work required, especially considering it was our first experience in the field. However, with effective planning, we managed to complete it in 8 months, working on every aspect. 🙃 Bit of a busy week, but here we have studio intros. Nonetheless we have Studio Titles 📽 An introduction sequence played at the start of a film to introduce the studio that made the film. These have progressively gotten longer over time. 🤔 Which one have you seen that stands out? 🎲 It usually shows off different aspects of all of the film that that studio provides and has theming that mixes in with it. Some are short, sweet and quick but others are really drawn out.  (Look at you Marvel Studios!) 🥇 Use this as the start of a film. Lots of other motion graphic techniques get used for this.
