Tick Paralysis: A Rare but Serious Health Threat   Tick paralysis is a critical issue that bridges the fields of veterinary medicine, human health, and public health. This condition, caused by neurotoxins released from the salivary glands of certain tick species during prolonged attachment, is often overlooked. However, if left untreated, it can lead to severe outcomes, including paralysis and even respiratory failure.   We are proud to share that our very own Hany Elsheikha from University of Nottingham has published a comprehensive review on tick paralysis. This detailed review sheds light on this rare but life-threatening condition, emphasizing the urgent need for greater awareness, timely diagnosis, and effective prevention strategies.   The review aims to spark vital conversations and equip veterinarians, healthcare professionals, and communities with the tools they need to safeguard both animal and human health.   📖 Read the full review here: https://lnkd.in/dAthNtVp   Together, let’s raise awareness and take action to mitigate the risks of tick paralysis.
