Are you curious how Soundscope® works? 🤔 In this video, our audiologist Tori discusses our patented hearing personalization technology called Soundscope®. Soundscope® is our core technology that allows you to adjust your hearing aid settings based on how you hear, right from your iPhone. 📱 To use Soundscope®, you will need to pair our Concha Sol™ Hearing Aids with our iOS app. Once you have them paired and you’ve made an account, it’s time to take Soundscope! Soundscope® will ask questions to gather information about your hearing loss configuration. It does this by asking for your feedback on how certain prompts sound to you, starting from simple sounds and progressing to more life-like sounds such as speech. You will select the option that sounds best to you. Make sure you are in a quiet environment with no distractions so you can hear the prompts clearly. All of your answers are combined to create an optimized sound profile to help you hear clearly. The US Food and Drug Administration has authorized the first over-the-counter hearing aid software to be used with Apple's AirPods Pro headphones. This software will enable users to customize their hearing experience and amplify specific sounds in real-time. The new hearing health features will be available this fall for AirPods Pro 2 users in over 100 countries and regions. The software is intended for individuals 18 years or older with perceived mild-to-moderate hearing impairment. The FDA's authorization advances the availability, accessibility, and acceptability of hearing support. Hearing loss is a significant public health issue impacting millions of Americans, with over 30 million adults reporting some degree of hearing loss. The software-only mobile medical application is set up using an iOS device and the user's hearing levels are accessed from the iOS HealthKit to customize the feature. A great example of a large company applying technology to increase accessibility to a health service. With a free software update, Apple AirPod Pro 2 will have the capability to be a clinical-grade hearing aid. As somebody who has some hearing loss, getting hearing aids is a long process that requires going to a clinic for testing, selecting hardware, and getting it tuned for your specific frequency needs. With Apple providing this capability, people who need hearing aids also benefit from the economies of scale in hardware and software, integration with their phone/IPad, and multiple ways to replace their hardware if they lose/break it. https://lnkd.in/gg5ErQ8S

Use your hearing aid/cochlear implant app to hear more of what you want. The main program for hearing aids is helpful and it tries to adjust accordingly. If you find yourself struggling in specific environments, use your app to change programs and then tweak it further for clarity, comfort, noise reduction and speech focus. Every little bit helps us.
