What are responsibilities of a Finance Manager for a medium sized organisation? Below are major in my opinion: 1. working capital and cash flow management, 2. long term financing decisions and arranging facilities, 3. preparation and presentation of financial statements, 4. compliance with local and regulatory laws including taxation, 5. preparation, presentation and monitoring of financial budgets, 6. sales order management and timely invoicing of delivered projects, 7. ensuing cost efficiencies at overall operational level, 8. making sure to have up to date and integrated ERP system connecting all the departments and smooth and easy access for corporate information for quick, easy and timely business decisions. I see Finance Manager as Finance business partner who should come out of traditional role of managing finances and get involved in operations and business investment decisions. what you will add to finance manager list of responsibilities?

Are you looking to hire a finance leader? If you're business is generating revenue (perhaps ecommerce or B2B SaaS) and you're looking at your first in-house finance hire, one of the best hires I think you can make is a Financial Controller or Head of Finance. In the North of England this type of hire will typically command a starting salary of £65,000 to £85,000, and will provide a big leap for your business around the clarity of financial information you'll be able to use compared to just having an outsourced accountancy practice. Some other key points for this type of hire and found in our Startup Salary Guide, and I've shared a few extra bits of context below; Strengthening financial reporting and controls; - Ensures accurate, timely financial reporting and compliance by implementing robust controls. This reduces errors and enhances decision making with reliable financial information. Financial Planning and Forecasting; - Leads budgeting and forecasting, using data to create realistic financial models and manage risks. This again enables informed decision making and prepares the company for growth and financial challenges. KPI Analysis and strategic insight; - Deep dive on KPIs to provide insights on profitability, efficiency, cashflow and overall financial health. These data driven decisions help leadership optimise operations and focus on activities with high ROI. I'll be following up with insights on a Finance Director hire later this week!

Delighted to see a significant uplift in requirements in May. Please see below for a snapshot of the team's current searches. 🚀 As suspected, the demand for top talent going into H2 is strong, and consumer brands are investing. So far, CFOs are investing in Commercial leaders, those that own and drive top & bottom-line initiatives. Departments are being split out, and areas of focus are sharpening. The start of the year was slower than expected for many, but hopefully, this is a strong sign of things to come/continue. - Head of Finance - FTSE Listed Retailer - Commercial Finance Lead/Director - Tech - Head of Commercial Finance - Scaling F&B Brand - Senior Commercial Finance Manager - Retail (£bn's) - Senior Technical Accounting Manager - PE-Backed Buy and Build - Group Treasury Accounting Manager - PE-Backed Group (Multi-site) - Senior Finance Manager (ERP) - FTSE Listed - UK Finance Manager - (£70m+ PE-Backed Fashion Brand - Senior Commercial Finance Manager - Fashion Group (£500m+) - Category Finance Manager - Division of a Multi-Billion revenue FMCG If you're considering a move, I can happily share more information on any of the above.
