TLDR: Flavor Flav is setting a new standard and it’s giving us all the feels. In sports, we see women working their asses off to excel in their games. They make the most of every opportunity and still face incredible challenges when trying to reach the pinnacle - an olympic medal. Maggie Steffens recently highlighted another important issue: the lack of financial support for women in sports after college. These athletes have worked tirelessly to become the best, yet they face significant challenges supporting themselves while training to represent our country. Flavor Flav is not only bringing incredible energy to women’s water polo (YESSSS) but he’s also personally financially backing the US Women's Water Polo Team. He swam up to the net (see what I did there) in a game-changing way. I think a lot can be taken from Flavor Flav’s gesture. In our startup world, I have a lot of conversations about our CAPSULE internship program. Not only because it's been incredibly impactful to the company, but also because we're extremely passionate about doing our part to create opportunities and education for women in tech. As a female-founded technical company, Kelsey Pedersen and I were passionate about prioritizing opening doors for young women across the country and demystifying both the functional roles and the ‘how this is built’ of a technical startup. The sad reality is there just aren't a ton of opportunities for young women to be exposed to technical startups early on. We knew we wanted to be able to show them how engineering, product development, and business operate behind the scenes. Even as a small team, we're determined to make a difference. Today we have 10 women across the country that we’re bringing along on our startup ride and we’re working hard to scale to 200. We’re channeling our Flavor Flav energy every day and encourage you to as well. Any questions about how we’ve made this happen, please dm me. We’re here to help support young entrepreneurs as much as we possibly can. #StartupJourney #CommunitySupport #womenintech #femalefounders #FlavorFlav #USAWaterPolo
In May, US polo team captain Maggie Steffens asked for financial help on Instagram. Flavor Flav – William Jonathan Drayton Jr – answered the call: “As a girl dad and supporter of all women’s sports, imma personally sponsor you, my girl, whatever you need. And imma sponsor the whole team.” Flav signed a five-year sponsorship deal to “elevate the visibility and excitement surrounding water polo in the United States.” The sponsorship includes personal appearances and financial contributions to help with equipment, facilities, and anything else they need. This is how it’s done 👏

Pop Culture Friday! Yeah boyeeeeee! That's what I'm talking about! Flavor Flav, co-founder of the hip hops group Public Enemy, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and "girl dad" is famously now the sponsor of the US women's water polo team. He's had a ton of ups and downs, and with the support of his network, made pivots to earn a living being a hype man for different projects. Supporting the water polo team is another example of him leveraging his profile and talents. When asked why he wore a clock: "The reason why I wear this clock is because, you know, time is the most important element, and when we stop, time keeps going." Seeing his joy now, he is enjoying living in the moment. I'm looking forward to seeing his next pivot. Use the DANO method to make your pivots and create a sustainable career. #career #olympics #pivot #waterpolo #flavorflav #publicenemy #networking

Contamination in meat-related anti-doping cases poses challenges, particularly in light of WADA’s Stakeholder Notice regarding potential meat contamination cases. In the case of ITA v. TARA MOORE & BARBARA GÁTICA, the Sports Resolution Panel deemed Colombian beef contamination as the likely cause of the Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF). https://lnkd.in/dWiFvZ9g The rationale behind this conclusion is noteworthy. It is indeed remarkable that three out of 21 players tested positive in a single competition. When considering the prevalence of positive tests overall, WADA’s published data between 2015 and 2021 show that only 0.03% of all samples worldwide returned an AAF for Boldenone. However, the presumption of Colombian beef contamination should not automatically favor the athletes. I recall the opinion of Doctor Douwe de Boer in one of the Polish cases, where he discussed low concentrations of Clenbuterol. A low concentration should be taken into account in favor of the athlete. Nevertheless, it's challenging for me to embrace and consider these legal fragments fully, having in mind this fragment of the award grounds: 86. In our view, the comparisons attempted between the levels found here and those found in the earlier studies do not advance the ITIA’s case. Even if Professor Le Bizec is right to say (for example) that the meat TM ate at breakfast on 6 April 2022 would have to have been 1.5 times more contaminated than the meat in the Montreal study to cause her Boldenone result and Professor Ayotte is right to say that the amount of Nandrolone in the meat would need to have been 3 times higher than the highest in the Montreal study, we consider these are relatively insignificant variations. Should the pendulum of doubt be swung to the Athlete's site? Maybe… https://lnkd.in/dHztSQ4d

Important insights in this report about the diverse experiences customers are looking for - and what green grass courses can learn from golf entertainment venues. Report published today…
Syngenta Global Head of Marketing, Turf & Landscape, Mark B. responds to the findings of new report Golf & Social Media: Golf Entertainment. He believes the exponential growth in both the number and popularity of #golf entertainment venues is down to them creating an experience that latent customers were looking for, one that wasn't being met by green grass golf venues. The good news is, a massive opportunity still remains... #SyngentaGolf #GrowingGolf
