Today we met pupils indicvidual career needs, (Gatsby Benchmark 3.) We also had an experience in the workplace, (Gatsby Benchmark 6.) 😊 Three of our pupils with a keen interest in maths, technology and amazon; got a chance to visit the Amazon Fulfilment Centre. 🙌 They really enjoyed the tour, and the lead shared her experience with them about what it is like to work for Amazon. 🚛 Visits like this really help to inform our pupils around job opportunities that may be options for them in the future. We hope this drives them to continue to make progress academically at school.💰💰💰

Hello Everyone, I’m excited to share that my resume has been shortlisted for the 𝐒𝐃𝐄-𝐈 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓! 🚀 So this is my 3rd time giving the OA for Amazon in the last 2 months. I got to know through a friend that there are very good chances of getting an OA if you apply, even if the intern role is for 2025, and despite being a 2026 grad, I received the assessment. My sole motive was to practice the questions and test my level. If you're wondering what questions they asked, just DM me—I’d be happy to help! 😊 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: 📌 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝟏: 𝐃𝐒𝐀 Got 2 medium-to-hard level DSA questions. Solved the first one fully and the second one partially in 40-50 minutes. It was challenging but satisfying to solve. 📌 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝟐: 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭 This round focused on evaluating my fit with Amazon's company culture. It was easy and straightforward. 📌 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝟑: 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰 Answered questions about everyday work situations to assess my alignment with Amazon’s work environment. A great way to understand whether I would thrive in their culture. 📌 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝟒: 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤/𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐲 The final step was a survey about the assessment process. I would like to thank Mazhar Imam Khan for his valuable video and the way he converts code into a story—it really made a difference! Looking ahead, I’m excited for the next steps in the process. Remember, every challenge is a step forward! Keep pushing forward, and opportunities will follow. 🙌

It's been more than 2 years now... I got a message from one of my PG mates. The message was, "He has been put into PIP." I was astonished when I heard because he is a good student and he was & is really good at the workplace as well.. A bit of highlights about him !!!... He was a topper in his school (in both 10th and 12th). He was also the topper in his university(BE/B.tech). He got a job at Samsung Electronics in a pooled off campus. Then in one month, he cracked Amazon and joined them. Such a good student, how did he end up in PIP then? No offense, but thanks to his manager for this drastic measure for a simple request. After completing almost 18-20 months at Amazon, he requested for a team switch. Bomb!! 💣 Yes that's what happened with his manager in that team switch discussion. His manager was so so arrogant, he warned him that he would make sure to put him in a miserable state for his team switch request. And he kept his words also by putting him in PIP despite his hard work and recognised deliverables. Shattered by this experience, he contacted me and we talked about how he could come out of this phase. He bagged offers from multiple companies (Tekion Corp, Uber and Google to name a few ) in 45 days. Finally, he joined Google.. He is doing more than fine over there... Many a times we blame the person who is in PIP but in reality, the person who should receive the blame is who takes everything with ego and handles everything with a personal vendetta, especially in these kinds of exceptional situations.. #niladri_speaks #pip #appraisal #manager #compassion #empathy #ego

Five years has never passed so quickly. I remember interviewing for my first role at Amazon and being asked "Why Amazon?" Obviously, there are tons of reasons and ways to explain why Amazon. Just to start the list: 1) the chance to work at an innovative, world-class company, 2) the opportunity to work at the most customer-centric company, 3) entering a culture that challenges my brain to level up and my ego to get a little smaller, 4) getting to bring my dog to work… the list goes on. I decided to answer with what mattered most to me. "I want to go somewhere where I can plant roots and still be challenged to stretch and grow every day. I want novelty and the option to build my career in new directions while I continue to grow as a professional and the ability to do that all within one company." Mission accomplished. I've learned, stretched, and grown in more ways than I could have imagined since onboarding. Last year on my Amaversary, I offered up four lessons for four years at Amazon. This year my advice is be audacious, tenacious, and humble. Have the audacity to think you can learn and do new things, the tenacity to hang in there through the discomfort of learning, and the humbleness to understand you will always be learning. I'm grateful for all of the learnings, experiences, and connections these past 5 years have brought. Excited for all the learnings that will come with my yellow-badge era. #Amazon #Amaversary #5years #yellowbadge

731 Day ones ! Well, that escalated quickly ;) Wow, the second year at Amazon flew by even faster than the first. Reflecting on this journey, it's incredible to see how much I've learned, the people I've met, and the dynamic nature of teams with members coming and going. Each experience has brought its own set of lessons and stories, making it the perfect time for a brief retrospective! Here are some of the skills I've honed during this time: 1. Self-feedback: Thanks to the guidance of my managers and colleagues, I've come to understand the importance of giving myself regular feedback. Identifying my strengths and areas for growth has been instrumental in improving my performance. 2. Excel Macros Coding: While I acknowledge there are more advanced coding methods than VBA in Excel, learning to use it it has been immensely useful for navigating through complex spreadsheets efficiently. A simple macro linked with one button can streamline tasks and save time, with Google serving as an invaluable resource for learning and problem-solving. Ne 3. CDMP Training: Participating in this extensive course over the whole year has been a significant undertaking. Although I'll have to wait four more years to take the exam due to experience requirements, I'm undeterred. Setting goals and staying committed will ensure I reach that milestone when the time comes. 4. Communication with External Stakeholders: Crafting well-structured and professional emails, especially when communicating with external parties, has been a learning curve. Avoiding internal jargon and ensuring clarity are essential to effective communication beyond the organization. While I can't list all my achievements here due to space constraints, I'm incredibly grateful to everyone I've crossed paths with during this journey. Each interaction has played a part in shaping who I am today, and I'm excited to continue growing and learning. Having the support of my colleagues at LEJ7 and throughout the company has been invaluable for both my professional and personal development. I eagerly anticipate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, looking forward to many more "Day ones" in the future. #2years #amaversary #amazon #ongoing Amazon

Courtesy of an internal tool at Amazon (IFYKYK), I recently learned I've been here longer than 2/3 of global employees. A fun an arbitrary milestone to be sure, but I'm taking it as a win. To commemorate, 2 lessons learned and 3 goals I failed at: 😥 First lesson: most of the stuff I was doing didn't matter. I was good at it, I was fast, and it had no impact. Try to do less. ⛔ Second lesson: Practice saying no. So important and as a people pleaser with decades of service industry experience... I still struggle. Find a partner to compete with if need be, but say no more often. Goals: 🎓 Second bachelors degree: Couldn't realize figure out how I would 'use' it. Gave up before I started, but lots of free time gained 😂 🤝 Creating a specialized internal team: I was excited about but couldn't quite get traction. A few months later as interest rates went up and belts tightened, the team would have been tough to keep going. A bummer but a blessing. 📕 Publishing a book: Finally making progress on this one! Not sure if it counts as a failure since I haven't given up, but it is a process! Hopefully my mistakes help others, any fun lessons that you wish you new sooner?

I recently had the privilege of attending the Amazon Student Campus Series: Session 1, an exclusive invite-only event that provided incredible insights into life at Amazon and its recruitment process. Expertly coordinated by Sophie Neely and Lucy Griffiths, the event kicked off with Gergana Ivanova, a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) Manager at Prime Video. Gergana shared how deeply Amazon’s culture is rooted in customer experience and satisfaction, emphasizing how the company’s Leadership Principles guide everyday decisions. Two principles that resonated with both of us were "Be Curious," which encourages continuous learning and an open mind, and "Dive Deep," which highlights the importance of maintaining a broad perspective while also thoroughly exploring the details. Next, Vedangi Mukadam, an SDE at Amazon, discussed the technical and non-technical skills essential for success in the tech field. She shared that one of the most rewarding aspects of working at AWS is the chance to collaborate with smart, versatile, and inspiring colleagues. Nicolina Pieri, a Professional Services Consultant in AWS, offered insights into her role, which blends technical responsibilities with client interaction, focusing on customer projects. Although Amazon's fast-paced environment can be challenging, she described her experience as overwhelmingly positive, thanks to the supportive culture and the opportunity to work with equally driven professionals. Debby Wehner, an SDE, and Inma Pérez Garbín followed with practical advice on preparing for online assessments (OAs). They emphasized the importance of dedicating time and space to focus solely on the task. Debby mentioned how pleasantly surprised she was to find Amazon’s culture more team-focused than competitive, a quality I also hope to find in my future workplace. Inma reinforced this, noting how supportive her colleagues are, always taking the time to review documents thoroughly before meetings. To wrap up the event, David Lafferty, a Tech Recruiter, shared valuable insights into Amazon’s recruitment process, covering everything from CV tips to the structure of different business teams at Amazon. His advice on behavioral interviews stood out to me the most, especially his emphasis on the 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥 method for structuring responses, the importance of telling a compelling story about past experiences, and how learning from negative outcomes is key to personal and professional growth. Overall, the event was packed with valuable perspectives from Amazon professionals, and I left feeling more informed and inspired. I look forward to attending future sessions and further exploring the application process. #AmazonCampusSeries #FirstPostJitters 😅

The year was 2014, a novice all of 22 years embarking on my professional journey. Little did I know how much of a rat race it would be to land the right job at the right time. Fresh out of college in search of my ‘ikigai’, I had yet to realize that 10 years later, my work journal would be filled with experiences, setbacks, successes, and most importantly, learnings - lessons that I carry forward and live by, and will continue to do so. I’d like to share one such experience: as I scrolled through one of Amazon product pages, I stumbled upon the Enhanced Marketing Content (A+) that I had helped create and push into the US and UK markets. It filled me with a sense of pride and accomplishment, recalling my role in the initial team. It would be an understatement to say I didn’t know HTML coding, but that didn’t deter me from putting in the effort to learn. Starting from scratch, within a year, we had progressed to an automated system servicing a larger base of sellers across both emerging markets. To accommodate the growth in workflow, our team expanded from 5 members to over 15 in a matter of months. A friendly reminder that it may not have seemed like much back then, and perhaps not too significant now for most people, reflecting on the journey of one's career, even the smallest accomplishments, can brighten spirits and instill a sense of hope for the future. #careerdevelopment #growth #amazon #motivation
