Hot off the presses! Published in the May 2024 issue of Clinical Oral Implants Research: Robotic versus Static Guided Surgery. Static-guided procedures resulted in more accurate and more precise implant placements in this in vitro study. The range of implant deviations was significantly narrower in the static-guided group and, therefore, outcomes were more predictable compared to robotic procedures. This study demonstrated that static-guided surgery yielded superior outcomes to robotic-guided surgery under controlled laboratory conditions. Angular deviation was 2.66 ± 1.83° for the robotic system and 0.68 ± 0.38° for guided surgery using static guides (p < .001), the 3D-deviation of the implant platform at crest level was for static 0.79 ± 0.28 mm and robotic 1.51 ± 0.53 mm (p < .001) and at the apex for static 0.82 ± 0.26 mm and for robotic 1.97 ± 0.79 mm (p < .001), respectively. read the article here: https://lnkd.in/eXt4uJqe Thank you to my colleague Arndt Guentsch, MS, Dr. med. dent. for our collaborative project. #guidedsurgery #digitaldentistry #roboticdentistry #roboticguided
