A woman’s reproductive health plays an important role in not only her sexuality but her general health as well. Here are 5 things we think every woman should know about her reproductive health. 1) All about your body: Let us face it; women’s bodies are complicated! There are many different structures, muscles, nerves, and hormones involved, and many women are not familiar with the fine details. But knowing and understanding how your body works is absolutely essential! Being educated on your body can also help you have better conversations with your doctor. 2) More about your cycle: Even though our periods can be somewhat annoying (or even very irritating!), the menstrual cycle plays an important role in your health. How long is your cycle? Is it regular or irregular? Has your period or cycle changed recently? Having a basic understanding of the menstrual cycle can help you take charge of your reproductive health, be better prepared to deal with your period, and even plan for or avoid #pregnancy. 3) The symptoms of #SexuallyTransmittedInfections (#STIs): Did you know that many sexually transmitted infections have few, if any, symptoms? Even without symptoms, it is possible to transmit these infections to someone else or get them from another partner. Other infections, like #chlamydia or #gonorrhea, can have vague symptoms like pain with urination, vaginal discharge, or bleeding between periods. If you are not in a monogamous relationship, it is important to use barrier contraception and be tested regularly. In addition, some #HPV infections are associated with cervical diseases, making it essential that you do not skip your yearly #PapSmear or full health checkup. 4) Fertility declines with age: A woman’s fertility begins to decline in her 30s and will significantly decrease by the time she reaches her early 40s. Despite numerous celebrities becoming #pregnant in their 40s, this definitely is not the norm. It is important to think about your family-building goals early on and consider freezing your eggs. 5) There are many fertility resources available: Many women feel very alone and overwhelmed when starting a fertility cycle. They may not want to talk to friends about what they are going through or are not aware of just how many resources are available to them. You can always speak with a reproductive health specialist, they should be able to answer all your dilemmas For Consultation, please call #WomanzHealth on ph +91 9871717305 or click on the website link https://lnkd.in/gFyjtst

According to the World Health Organization, roughly 1 in 6 people globally experience infertility at some point in their lives. This translates to millions of individuals and couples facing the physical, emotional, and financial burdens of involuntary childlessness. Interestingly, infertility rates show surprising consistency across high-, middle-, and low-income countries, with an estimated prevalence of 17.8% and 16.5%, respectively. However, access to affordable, high-quality fertility care remains a significant barrier, particularly for those in low-income countries like South Africa, compared to their counterparts in middle and high-income nations. This is where VitruvianMD steps in. We are committed to advancing reproductive health equity and empowering individuals and couples on their journeys towards parenthood. We go beyond simply advocating – we're at the forefront of innovation in this field. We've developed a world-first, AI-powered sperm DNA fragmentation screening method that facilitates faster, more accurate, and more cost-effective diagnoses. If you're interested in learning more about our AI-powered screening technology, please feel free to reach out to us at hello@vitruvianmd.com #infertilityawareness #ttcjourney #SouthAfricafertility #VitruvianMD #fertilityinnovation #reproductivehealth #AIinfertility #AIinscience #DNAfragmentation #fertilitytesting

Did you know that one in seven UK couples experience difficulty conceiving? Fertility challenges are widespread and on the rise. These challenges are paired with the increasing average age of new mothers, which is up to 30.9 years old in the UK. We’re not here to advocate for “fixing” these issues bar none, nor do we think turning back the clock on motherhood is a solution. Society has changed. Women’s lives and goals and challenges have changed. As such, we need to adapt! We need to develop new ways of supporting women today, acknowledging the new pressures and difficulties being placed on them. Here’s a few things we’d love to see more of: • Access to fertility treatments & therapy • Reproductive health knowledge • Support, support, support What else would you add to our list? Let’s chat support in the comments below.

#WorldContraceptionDay (26 September) highlights the importance of #contraception and #reproductivehealth, and supports efforts to promote safe and effective contraceptive methods, enable informed choice, prevent unintended pregnancies, and improve the health of millions. Menstrual Health Action for Impact (MHAi) supports #WorldContraceptionDay! We believe that contraception is relevant for the #menstrualhealth community of practice. Here's how - ➡ Menstrual health and hygiene education and awareness can lay the foundation to build awareness on fertility, family planning, contraceptive use, and pregnancy ➡In sensitive contexts where information on SRHR, family planning, contraceptives cannot be delivered easily, menstrual health and hygiene sessions can be a foot in the door, imparting essential body literacy to girls and women ➡ Hormonal contraceptives can cause changes to the menstrual cycle and bleeding patterns (contraceptive induced changes to the menstrual cycle). Ensuring that women have information on the potential effects of hormonal contraceptives can overcome some barriers to uptake and adherence to contraceptives methods, averting unintended pregnancies ➡Certain hormonal contraceptives are used to treat menstrual concerns and disorders ➡Service delivery points for contraceptives and family planning counseling can double up as platforms to provide information on menstrual health, support symptom identification for menstrual problems, and even provide menstrual products to adult women ➡Supply chains for contraceptives and menstrual products need to be gender responsive and person-centered to fulfill unmet needs and promote good health ➡Both contraceptive use and menstrual product use should be based on informed choice - and reinforcing informed choice in both areas can support bodily autonomy 📚 A small yet growing body of literature highlights the interconnections between contraceptives, family planning and menstrual health. Sexual health, a topic largely neglected in India. It is a concept we #Indians slyly ignore and aloof about. According to a report by the Family Planning Association, India, 14% of #pregnancies amongst women aged under 20 are unplanned. It is only because the awareness rate is relatively low. We receive so many queries on a daily basis where we can see the unawareness of people in India. This is a gap we are largely trying to close. Lately, we have started two series with two senior doctors (both OB-GYN) where they address common queries that most of us go through but don't talk about. One is Sex Emergencies where Dr. Asavari takes up the most common sexual queries. Another one is the Mythbust Series where Dr. Astha busts myths around pregnancy, periods, puberty etc. Both these series have been a huge hit creating awareness and reaching to the masses A huge shoutout to our doctors for their time and effort in raising awareness with Newmi Care. Head over to Newmi Care IG to check this - https://lnkd.in/gKGTmfPV Dr. Astha Dayal - Obstetrician & Gynecologist Asavari Karani (Dongre) Sanchit Agarwal Anushri Agarwal #sexualhealth #womenhealth #newmicare

Infertility does not discriminate. It is a widespread issue affecting people of all genders, sexual orientation, relationship statuses, socioeconomic, and geographical backgrounds. Which is why equal access to reproductive services must be available to all. But in Australia under Medicare, funding for IVF and other reproductive services is currently limited to people with “medical infertility”, defined as an inability to fall pregnant after several months of unprotected sex. This definition – based on an outdated societal model – excludes aspiring LGBTQIA+, and single parents. RANZCOG in alliance with ANZSREI (Australian and New Zealand Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility), and FSANZ (Fertility Society of Australia and New Zealand) is advocating for the government to expand this definition beyond disease and remove archaic barriers within Medicare which will improve equal access to essential care and reproductive services.
