To qualify for a work visa in NZ there are many, many variables but becuase I I help people out with their English, I took this information from the Immigration NZ website around the new minimum scores for each accepted English language test. English language test results we accept, test minimum score: IELTS — General or Academic module – 4 overall  IELTS — One Skill Retake (OSR) – 4 overall Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-Based Test (TOEFLiBT) – 31 overall Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE academic) – 29 overall Cambridge English B2 First – 142 overall Cambridge English B2 First for Schools – 142 overall Occupational English Test (OET)Grade D or higher in all 4 skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking. With the cost of the test between $330 – $600 you want to get it right the first time. 🚨 Canada’s Immigration Scam🚨 As if we haven’t already paid enough in tuition, rent, and taxes, Canada recently stretched its immigration scam a little further—IELTS is now mandatory for Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) applicants. You know, the same exam we already wrote to get our study permits. Let me break it down: 1️⃣ I wrote IELTS Academic to prove I can listend, read, write and speak English to study here. 2️⃣ Two years later, I wrote IELTS General for PR because apparently, my English had "expired." 3️⃣ If I want to apply for citizenship, guess what? Yup—another IELTS. And now, they’ve made IELTS mandatory to obtain PGWP (work permit). All this for an exam that costs $365 CAD each time and is valid for only 2 years. TWO YEARS. Who forgets English every 2 years? Does Canada think our English proficiency disappears faster than the snow in June? This feels less like a test of language and more like a test of how much money we’re willing to throw at IELTS and the immigration system. The government, in partnership with IELTS, has turned this into a profitable scam targeting vulnerable international students. Enough is enough. Why can’t IELTS scores be valid for 10 years, or at the very least 5 years? The system is broken, and it’s high time someone fixed it. Pierre Poilievre , if you're serious about standing up for Canadians (and soon-to-be Canadians), how about tackling this blatant exploitation? International students are contributing billions to the Canadian economy—don’t squeeze us dry over redundant tests. The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is a computer-based English language proficiency test designed for non-native English speakers. It is often used for Australian immigration purposes, particularly for visa applications. Key Features: Format: The test assesses four main areas: speaking, writing, reading, and listening. All sections are integrated into a single test session lasting about 3 hours. Scoring: PTE scores range from 10 to 90, with higher scores indicating a higher level of English proficiency. Different Australian visa subclasses have specific score requirements. Recognition: PTE Academic is widely accepted by the Australian government, universities, and professional organizations, making it a reliable option for immigration and academic purposes. Availability: The test is available in numerous locations worldwide, with multiple test dates offered regularly, allowing for flexibility in scheduling. Results: Test results are typically available within 48 hours, which facilitates quicker decision-making for immigration applications. Preparation: Applicants can prepare for the PTE through various resources, including official practice materials and online courses. Countries and their Dedicated Test for Immigration CANADA If you wish to migrate to Canada, the test that you can give is CELPIP. The CELPIP Tests are Canada's leading general English tests for immigration. It can be used in filing your permanent residence in Canada. The CELPIP (Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program) is a specialized test and is easier than the IELTS test (Band 8 or 8,777). It is only a computer-delivered test. AUSTRALIA If your dream destination is Australia, the Pearson test of English would be your number one choice. The test is conducted by a well-known publisher called Pearson and is an AI-based test with the fastest results than any other EPT. The test originates from the UK. It can be used for a study visa (PTE Academic) and filling out the PR application (PTE Academic) if your destination is Australia. To fill out the Canadian PR, you will be given the PTE core. The format of both tests is more or less the same, with only two major question types that differ. The PTE general can be given by trainers who teach English and have no expiry. THE STATES If you are planning to pursue your studies in the United States of America, there are two tests that can help. The first one is DET (Duolingo English Test), and the second one is TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language). Both tests are computer-delivered and can be used to obtain a study visa in the United States. UNITED KINGDOM The UK is a popular choice among international students these days. It offers world-class universities to study and settle abroad. The tests that can be given are the IELTS UKVI and PTE UKVI if you are planning to file a study visa. Furthermore, the IELTS test is widely accepted here. IRELAND You can take tests like the IELTS academic/PTE academic or Duolingo English Test for a study visa. Most of the universities and colleges here are flexible enough and accept the above test. Low-budget colleges and institutions also offer you a seat sometimes with a score of 5.5 in any one module of the IELTS academic test. NEWZEALAND IELTS Academic is the top preference of the universities or colleges here if a non-native English speaker wants to pursue a degree or a course in this country. You need a minimum of band 6 in each module with an overall of 6.5. The tuition fee is high here, and so is the standard of living.
