I genuinely believe being part of the #FixTheFlow Community would have been an invaluable experience for me as a Fundraiser. But don't just take it from me 👇 Our wonderful Fellows have shared some of the main benefits of the programme for them. Some that resonate with me most are: 🤯 Headspace - oftentimes as Fundraisers, we are working in a reactive way, which has negative impacts on our ability to raise money, and on our wellbeing! Having the time and permission to think strategically about how we approach fundraising can be absolutely game changing. 🔨 Tools - when I became a Fundraiser, I had very little training on basic fundraising skills and practices. Having access to a programme that equips you with the core tools we need to do our jobs well might seem simple, but is far too often overlooked in the sector. #FixTheFlow gives people the opportunity to learn and level up those tools and practices! 🌟 Energy - Fundraising can be tiring! Especially in the current environment. Although we are all mission and values driven in our work, it can be easy to lose sight of these things when you feel like a cog in a system that's becoming more broken and competitive by the day. Knowing we are not alone, connecting with like-minded professionals and learning how to play (and more importantly change!) the game, helps us to remember why we do this work and why it is so important! Sharing an a 1-year research fellowship (stipend: $40,000) from my friends and colleagues at the Kapor Foundation: The research should be focused on topics at the intersection of racial #equity, #accountability, and the #tech ecosystem (i.e., K-12 and postsecondary computer science education, tech workforce issues, tech accountability/regulation, venture capital, and responsible AI). Two types of fellowships:  - dissertation/thesis fellowships to support graduate students' final year of data analysis and writing for their research and  - investigative reporting fellowships to support journalists' deep research and reporting activities as they develop long-form narratives. Kapor is prioritizing research focused on national populations and trends or those in our priority cities and states: Oakland, CA; Atlanta, GA; and Detroit, MI. (Local research happening outside these regions is less likely to be funded in this fellowship.) A more detailed overview of the fellowship is attached here.
