Hello, Network! I'm thrilled to share that I've joined the Migrant Leaders Development Programme. This summer, I took some time to think about my future after university and realised I want a career that's fulfilling, constantly evolving, and challenging, especially in the field of criminology. This gave me a clear direction on what it takes to land the job I want. This led me to a key question: What makes me stand out from other candidates? What makes me employable? I dove into the concept of employability, learning what qualities make a candidate exceptional and how I can improve my own skills. This journey eventually brought me to social mobility and the Migrant Leaders organisation. As a second-generation migrant, navigating the professional world can be tough, especially with limited experience. The Migrant Leaders Development Programme offers young migrants the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need, along with valuable insights and mentorship from experienced professionals. Joining Migrant Leaders is a fantastic opportunity to gain diverse perspectives and enhance my adaptability, which is crucial for my future role in the justice system. Learning from their experiences will help me build empathy and broaden my horizons. I want my future to be bright, and I aim to be someone who helps others solve their problems. This summer taught me that it's okay not to have all the answers about your career path. What matters is being proactive, curious, and always seeking opportunities for growth. Thank you Migrant leaders #Migrantleaders

What do you think of our work on creating awareness to connect DEI and Ramadan? Reach out to learn more about how you can create team-building and high-performance Ramadan activities for your team! Ramadan Kareem everyone! 🌙
Did you know that it's the year 1445 according to Hijri calendar? 📆 This is one of the most personal posts I am sharing in my 15+ of being on LinkedIn. I'm not sure if it's because of my weakness of "faith", or for the shame and guilt I've learned to wrongfully associate with my own beliefs as a result of social and professional norms. 💓 However, reflecting on my experience at a past company, I wanted to share an experience that may help shed some light and bridge a major gap that exists in many organizations- even those who celebrate embracing #DEI. 🫂 I once eagerly offered to contribute to our #Diversity, #Equity, and #Inclusion 'Club' by sharing insights about #Ramadan, a significant holiday for myself and my fellow Muslim colleagues. The response was brief, yet initially heartening: 'Thanks, Heba, but we've got Ramadan #awareness covered.' 🌙 Filled with gratitude, I eagerly awaited the publication of the "article", hoping to see my #traditions and experiences #recognized. However, as days turned into weeks, it became apparent that my voice was being sidelined. The article, when finally released in the last week of Ramadan, predominantly focused on Passover and Easter, leaving the essence of Ramadan barely acknowledged and failing to provide any employee pictures of Ramadan, but rather "stock images". ⌛ The #omission of our #Muslim community's experiences and traditions felt like a profound dismissal- stark reminder of my sense of belonging within the company. Despite being an enthusiastic and highly dedicated member of the team, I felt #unseen and #undervalued. 😔 This experience underscores the critical need for organizations to engage in meaningful dialogue and inclusion efforts, particularly during religious observances like Ramadan. #DEI leaders and Directors of #Culture and #Engagement must prioritize fostering a culture where every voice is heard and celebrated. 🌟 To those wishing to #honor Ramadan within their circles; kindly consider the tips and resources provided in the video below- tailored to this blessed month. Let's ensure that every individual, regardless of faith or background, feels valued and embraced within our workplaces and communities. 🛐 Fun Fact: Did you know that during Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn till dusk, but the fast is not just abstaining from food and drink? It's also about refraining from negative behaviors like #gossiping, #lying, and #anger. Ramadan is truly a time for spiritual #reflection, #selfimprovement, and #purification of the heart. 🤍 Ramadan Kareem to those who are celebrating, and Blessed Lent, and Shabat Shalom to my Christian, Coptic, Orthodox, and Jewish friends who are observing their own beautiful and tradition-filled religious holidays. 🕌⛪🕍 Truly, only through embracing one another's identities, can we call ourselves avid supporters of diversity, equity, and inclusion for all. 🫶

Hello everybody; Been dong a survey among my relatives and friends; not a formal survey, about my wish to work with foreigners. The answers varied of course and they didn't come out of experience, just personal beliefs. Some said it isn't easy to deal with them and I won't find what im looking for easily, and on the other hand, some said it is much better than working with Egyptians and it is easy to find working with natives if I search well. We didn't tackle cons and pros as I mentioned earlier it wasn't a formal survey. So, to those who tried, do you think it is better and easy to find? or i should forget all about it? My reasons are; after taking two different diplomas in the leadership career in the educational field with British instructors, I found myself excited and willing to start that experience with different mentalities. Could you do me the honor and share your thoughts?! Thanks in advance
