More than half of the global economic burden attributable to non-communicable disease are related to mental ill-health (1). The most recent Health at a Glance report shows that pandemic in conjunction with the associated economic crisis caused a growing burden on the mental well-being of European citizens (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (2). The EUPAG-DS project will deliver systematic and organized data on the impact of physical activity and exercise on depression disorders to public health services and the scientific field. This includes recommendations regarding how European adults can engage in Health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA) to achieve better health outcomes concerning depressive symptoms.
