Do you know what this is? This is the oil drain plug from an oil bath vibrator housing. What is the advantage of an oil bath vibrator? While the bearings and moving parts of an old-fashioned grease lubrication system must be lubricated with a grease cartridge at regular intervals, the oil bath vibrator requires minimal maintenance. As the name suggests, the vibrator housing is filled with oil. This oil is permanently whirled around in the closed housing while the vibrator is in operation, flushing the bearings of the vibrator shafts and ensuring permanent lubrication. Regular maintenance work ensures that the housing is sealed and there is no oil leakage. If the system is sealed and the oil is permanently distributed in the closed system, no further action is required. As in any other motor-driven system, vibrator shafts and bearings are not free of a small level of abrasion, which makes it necessary to change the oil at regular, but long-term intervals. The drain plug is equipped with a magnet to filter metallic abrasion from the oil and extend the service life of the vibrator unit. The smallest metallic residues are collected here. The oil bath vibration system ensures minimal downtime and lower maintenance. Fun fact: The same drain plug used by HESS GROUP is used in many Porsche 911 models.
