What is the list of professions in shortage of employees published in Luxembourg? Here is the list of professions related to information technology according to the list published in the Official Journal on April 4, 2024: Information Systems Administration (M1801), Technical Expertise and Support in Information Systems (M1802), Information Technology Studies and Development (M1805), and Information Systems Consulting and Project Management (M1806). Missing from this list are the functions of Information Systems Management (M1803), Telecom Network Studies and Development (M1804), and Information Systems Production and Operation (M1810). This seems to be primarily due to the low volume of these positions in Luxembourg for the first two. I need to investigate more for the last one. For more details, the list of professions is referenced under ‘Information and Telecommunication Systems’ on the etat.lu website. To better understand the definition of highly scarce professions: these are positions with more than 7 openings per month on average (equivalent to approximately 84 requests per year), and where there are few job seekers and offers without candidates in a certain proportion. As a consequence, employers seeking qualified workforce in the referenced professions can benefit from simplified and expedited procedures for hiring third-country nationals Beyond these categories that encompass professions with broader definitions, IT professions are characterized by a common foundation typically acquired during initial training, followed by specialties driven by technological advancements. For instance, in terms of programming languages, proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript, and SQL covers the essential needs. However, this is accompanied by a multitude of highly specialized languages, primarily for presentation layers that evolve more rapidly than the back-end foundations and are closer to data. Therefore, mastering these foundations appears mandatory. The qualities that a skilled IT professional must possess extend beyond technical knowledge. While this may seem obvious, the profession demands a solid understanding of related fields, continuous learning throughout one’s career, and an analytical mindset for problem-solving. The rare skill that truly adds value to an IT professional is functional knowledge of their domain. And this knowledge can only be developed through proximity. It’s unnecessary to reiterate that the goal of any IT project is to deliver a functional product that meets the client’s needs. New Rules for Data Centers in Kazakhstan The Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan approved new rules governing data center operations and technical audits, effective from 8 January 2025. Key Highlights: 1) Data centers must meet requirements for protection against disasters, fire safety, optimal operating conditions, monitoring, and information security. 2) Technical audits may be conducted at both national and international levels. 3) Data centers will be classified into four tiers based on reliability and uptime: • Tier I: 99.671% uptime • Tier II: 99.741% uptime • Tier III: 99.982% uptime • Tier IV: 99.995% uptime A detailed summary of the rules is provided in the attached file below ⬇️ #EYKazakhstan #TaxLaw #EYLaw #DataCenters #DataCenterAudit #DataCenterClassification
