When you have deep knowledge and passion about something it’s hard to communicate to others about it. It’s not that what you say isn’t interesting and important. It’s just too much info for them. They don’t connect to what you are saying. Their eyes glaze over and they tune you out. I heard a podcast recently about how technical and scientific people can communicate to people who have less knowledge in a way they can understand. This is a lot like the cannabis sector. You have so much knowledge and passion and history that it’s really easy to talk over people’s heads and use industry lingo. You see this a lot in marketing to cannabis consumers. A friend told me about his experience with this related to cannabis recently. He said that the cannabis person was very passionate and knowledgeable, but saying all this stuff he didn’t get. I guessed some of the language the person used and my friend immediately said “Yes yes yes! I just smiled and nodded. He didn’t even care that I didn’t know what he was talking about.” Ouch. A big idea in this podcast is that when someone asks you what time it is you tell them the time. You don’t build the clock. Meaning- Don’t add more detail than you need to. Just tell them what they want to know- the time. If you tell them how to build the clock they will move on to someone else who just tells them the time. ➡️ Click here to listen to it https://lnkd.in/gbr7H3jb It’s 20 min long. Do your eyes ever glaze over when someone talks to you about something? . #craftcannabis #cannabisindustry #cannabisbusiness #phenologic

Moving on is accepting that the ship has sailed on old relationships. I've made my fair share of mistakes in the Cannabis Industry. And I thought I needed to revisit those of my past for redemption. But at this point, it's worth shifting paradigms to realize that despite my mishaps, I'm being called to do something greater with my Differentiation Workshops through LAINAVERSEworks, my cannabis merch brand The ENDOCANN Band and my upcoming podcast series "The LAINAVERSE Bookcast: Radiant Reads for Cannabis Innovators." History gave me the expertise, relational skills and bird-eye perspectives necessary to craft a new future for the Global Cannabis Industry. Anything else is a distraction. Especially when it comes to folk on here who deliberately snub me. But no worries. I got something special for y'all when you come looking for my talents. ☀️ #cannabisindustry #brandmarketing #creativestrategist #hempindustry #growth #relationshipbuilding #globalcannabis #globalbrand

We’re all drawn to the cannabis industry for different reasons. But it’s our ‘why’ that keeps us persevering. For KC Santana, Host of the Chiefah Entertainment Podcast, it’s about de-stigmatizing through educating people on the plant. WHAT’S YOUR PERSONAL “WHY” (YOUR PASSION) FOR WORKING IN CANNABIS? Now that I'm almost 40, it’s more about de-stigmatizing through educating people on the plant. I’m passionate about being a voice for the roots of the community and being an asset to the industry! WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE INTERESTED IN A CAREER IN CANNABIS? First of all, have pure intentions about the future of this plant. Secondly, respect the legacy of the culture and really get to know the Emerald Triangle farmers and their stories. Lastly, know it’s very competitive and requires a whole lot of heart! CANNABIS HELPS ME _____. Recover from training quicker, be more creative, and most definitely keep me energized every day. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CANNABIS WORK COMMUNITY? HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER WORK ENVIRONMENTS YOU’VE KNOWN? I built my career in the financial industry. A retail finance branch is operated very similarly to a cannabis retail shop, but they are still two different worlds. I absolutely love being my authentic -self now that I’m working in the cannabis space. I feel like I’m living my true purpose. HOW DO YOU SEE CANNABIS IMPACTING YOUR COMMUNITY? Moms all over the world are finally using their voices; veterans need it; and professional athletes are speaking about their love for the plant. We can only keep moving forward from here. Ultimately, I am hoping the plant gets descheduled! Check out the Chiefah Entertainment Podcast here ----> https://lnkd.in/e5FP2rCV #thatsmywhy #cannabiscareers
