Last October 4th, Mariola Penadés, Director of Research and Innovation at Generalitat Valenciana, visited the ITACA Institute - Institute of Information and Communication Technologies Institute at Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). This visit had the aim to explore the innovative work being done in the health sector, with a particular focus on Corify , spin-off company from Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and Hospital Gregorio Marañón. During the visit, Andreu M. Climent Climent, CEO of Corify Care and researcher at ITACA, showcased the company’s cutting-edge technology for the diagnosis and prevention of cardiac arrhythmias. Corify Care is developing a non-invasive solution that aims to revolutionize how arrhythmias are detected, providing more accurate and faster diagnostics to improve patient outcomes. This is a prime example of how research at ITACA translates into real-world health applications. Our project focuses on three groundbreaking technologies: • Real-time tracking systems using sensors and video data • A context-aware communication tool to improve alert and task management for nurses • AI-based software for automatic interpretation of clinical images This week, we’re in Turku, Finland, for a three-day meeting with our Belgian, Portuguese, and Finnish partners. Besides advancing our shared goals and technical progress, we’re also strengthening relationships and learning about each other’s organizations and expertise. With clinical experts ensuring that our solutions meet real-world needs, we’re excited about the meaningful impact PROFIT will have on both patient care and the work environment of healthcare professionals! This is indeed a remarkable innovation coming out of research. Pressure injuries lead to prolonged hospitalization, increased clinical labour and reduced operation efficiency. Due to pressure injuries, unnecessary wounds will occur. It leads to increased usage of medical dressings, medications and additional debridement time of nursing clinicians. These factors increase the medical treatment cost very significantly. Here's wishing ANTO a successful event to showcase this breakthrough technology.

Exciting collaboration alert! Today, WARIFA Project and RE-SAMPLE project joined forces to explore synergies and foster #awareness. Together, we're sharing project outcomes, championing open science, and creating unified strategies for future advancements. RE-SAMPLE project is a European project working to transform the #healthcare journey of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) patients, and to set a standard of care for patients suffering from complex chronic conditions. Using Artificial Intelligence and real-world data, RE-SAMPLE’s approach to integrated care aims to help patients feel safer in-between medical visits, and equally, that patients are involved meaningfully in the management of their care.
